In India, during the month of October, there is a big festival of Goddess Durga, worshipped by most of the Indian Hindu sect, as Navratri and specially in the eastern part of India as Durga Pooja.

During the four days of festivity, both d old and the young, plus children wear new clothes, eat good food and do a lot of pandal hopping in the day time as well as night, to see the Goddess and get mesmerised. Each neighbourhood has its unique themed pandal, where the deity is placed and worshipped. The most exciting part that people love about the Pooja is the light work at night and the creative skill of the artisans depicting the theme of their pandal. The street food during this festivity has a booming sale cause Indians love any type of lip smacking, tasty, spiced up food. There is competition amongst the pandal, as to which pandal is the best and the Municipal Bureau along with judges give award to the best themed pandal.
