Chapter 10 - Abandoned

Sitting behind my desk beside the window, letting the warm light of sun hit my cheek. I sat there in daze staring at my lecturing teacher, moving from side to middle then to side, making sure everyone is listening.

Completely lost I couldn't even hear anything, all I could see is their movements. The bell rang, signaling the end of school day. Waking me up from my thoughts as my seatmate talked to me, I don't know what her name is so I just glanced at her, sign that I'm listening.

"Hi, Harue-san would you like to borrow my notebook? You haven't write anything and the teacher might throw a surprise quiz tomorrow." I noticed the blank page of my notebook. She noticed eh? Is it too obvious?

"You seemed to be lost, is there something bothering you?" She asked in a concerned tone, but why bother it's not that we're close. But still I decided to answer her.

"Nah, just some matters at home" I said with a tight smile

"Oh, is that so" Looking at her watch she passed me her notebook and gathered her things

"I need to go now Harue-san. Don't worry about the notebook, you could return it to me tomorrow. Bye!~"

"Thanks…" I awkwardly said as I waved at her. What a sweet girl..

I also gathered my things putting it in, in my backpack. Walking towards the school gates with my head lowered, I glanced at the sky as it slowly turns into an orange hue.

Such a beautiful view, unfortunately she can't feel anything other than a numb ache in her heart. I was passing by on a small park when I heard the same familiar voice that I couldn't forget. Peeking behind the tall tree I saw him, my father that was supposed to be on his 'business trip' holding a child about two years of age together with a woman who looks delicate an sweet plus judging by her happy and warm expression, she looks really pretty. Oh, what a cute little kid. I said in my mind but what I heard next made me froze.

"Papa raise me higher! More! More!" The child said together with his excited laughter. But 'papa'? What does he mean by 'papa'? Listening more to them makes my numb heart feel pain again, like a multiple of sharp blades stabbing me over and over again.

"Now, now darling I'm afraid you'll drop him"

"Nope, trust me he won't" Raising the child in his arms higher, he exclaimed

"Our child's getting more bigger eh?"

Happy, so happy. They have their very own safe and warm bubble, while I stood there alone gazing at the family of three with a blank eyes, no sense of light. My mother is suffering, my brother is missing, I am abandoned with no source of strength and security, while you… father, you're enjoying yourself with your bitch and bastard while you left us alone in the dark suffering of pain. How could you do this to us? Why are you so cruel?
