Finding himself with a growing need for the more exotic materials that did not occur naturally on Earth, Kane decided to build two single use satellites and teleport into space once more to deploy them. He chose to deploy them this way as no country had the capability to deploy rockets into space and it would have drawn unnecessary attention had he done so out of the blue. The first satellite would scan the entire globe and and the orbiting moon and then after transmitting the data back to him, it would set a course to burn up in the atmosphere and self destruct. That way it would blow up and the fragments would also be destroyed leaving no trace of it and it could easily be mistaken for a shooting star. The second satellite would be slightly different in that it would have an engine that could take it around the entire solar system to gather data and likewise after compiling it and sending the data back it would also be destroyed in the same manner but in a different planets atmosphere. Jupiter would be a great choice for that. Both of the satellites would have the best of sensors that he could currently make and be able to see in various spectrum's and the ability to penetrate any cloaking devices out there.
To be honest Kane thought it was a bit overkill putting in such advanced sensors, as he doubted there would be anything cloaked nearby as that would mean aliens had already found them and were watching them. That would be pointless though as if they had the technology to arrive here in a ship then they already over powered anything Earth could throw at them and the technology would be so advanced that they had other means to remain invisible other then a cloak. When having such a technological discrepancy what was the need to stay hidden if they planned on doing anything to Earth or its inhabitants?
After triple checking everything was in working order Kane sent both of the satellites on their merry way to gather the data he needed. Both of them should have completed their assigned tasks in a day or so give or take a few hours.
With nothing to do but wait for the results Kane turned his attention elsewhere. On the premise of defending humanity from extinction Kane decided to design some space based weapons to defend his new home. They couldn't be placed into orbit or fired from the ground for obvious reasons so they would have to be place on other planets like Mars or buried deep on the far side of the moon where it wasn't visible to human eyes. The problem was that no matter what he came up with he couldn't think of a suitable effective counter to Jekkan Arosst, the azure cloud like entity. If Kane managed to breach realities and arrive in this dimension then why couldn't it when it was so much more powerful then Kane himself? Or for that matter if this reality already has something or multiple somethings of equivalent or greater power. For his own convenience Kane decided to refer to Jekkan Arosst as a he rather then an it, as to his ears the name sounded male. Of course that was probably Kane's subconscious at work personifying an enemy into something recognizable. Kane had a rather intense dislike towards him father to put it mildly and saw him as an enemy as he was diametrically different to Kane in every way and that hate might have also transferred after watching all of his closest people that he saw as siblings be wiped out in front of him. Humans loved to label things as they were afraid of the unknown and it helped ease their minds and Kane was also no exception to this despite him being unaware of it.
Once again this proved that the human mind was an amazing and complicated thing for the need to rationalize and categorize things to make them fit into whatever image we want them to be. The problem is if he continued to think that way and fail to grasp an understanding what he was dealing with then he would never be able to devise a counter.
After realizing that his thoughts were somewhat wrong and he was feeling afraid, he cast off the fear plaguing his heart and began to try and look at the information he had with a cold and logical perspective. Unfortunately he just didn't know enough as most races or planets that encountered the entity didn't survive long enough to tell anyone about it. The only information he had was what he gained from ancient alien ruins over a hundred thousand years ago. That is a long time and age can chip away and erode mountains much less man made or rather alien made structures. With that in mind if there was any additional information stored it might have been fragmented or corrupted and lost. Still it was worth a second look as Kane didn't really pay too much attention to it thinking they were that races version of myths, like the Greek gods and such that his people had.
To do that he had to find a way to return to his original dimension and if possible maybe travel to the time when that people were still alive or at least nearer to the destruction of that race as so much time wouldn't have passed and everything would be in a better state. Building a time machine that could also shift realities was going to be a serious pain and the science involved would take him years if it was even possible. There were several laws and rules to follow in the event that a freak event sent someone back in time in the Terran Space Empire and despite all their technological prowess even they didn't want to mess around with time. Of course his own ability could transfer time and space and while he was massively under utilizing it just to teleport around he just didn't understand it enough. He didn't want to teleport himself into molecules to be spread among the infinite universe all over different time periods. "Who knows, maybe that was how some of the races started or was the origin of the God theory; namely that someone had managed to teleport their molecules everywhere and they all evolved" he thought to himself with dark amusement. In time he needed to do more experiments on himself and his abilities, but he had to find a way to make it safe. Although because of his cells that divided over fifty times faster then a normal human allowing him almost instantaneous recovery from wounds, he somehow doubted very much so that he could heal himself from that. In fact he was positive that he would be very, very dead. Thus the continues experimentation has temporarily halted.
While Kane didn't have enough data to work on stopping Jekkan Arosst, he could build other general purpose weapons to defend against lesser threats like say, a stray comet or a fleet of ships with no problem so long as he had the materials.
Kane wanted to build a molecular converter which could alter the base composition of anything by changing the atoms it is made out of to transform it into something else. When it was first invented and showcased to the world at large, it was the life long dream of all the ancient ancestors who practiced alchemy and science as now lead could indeed be turned into gold. Of course if funds were ever needed to be supplemented in future it could be used for that purpose, but Kane wanted it to produce all of the exotic and extraterrestrial materials he needed by converting the raw materials easily accessible to something else. He desperately needed them to build his inventions namely a vast upgrade to his personal battle armour, the defensive weapon platforms, outposts on other planets and asteroids in the solar system as well as a defensive grid tied into a full range of sensors to supplement them and some space ships for mobile defense as well as to project Earth's power outwards should the need arise. Also spaceships would be needed to explore and study the universe with, as he had meant what he said to Stark and Erskine, that he wanted to explore the deepest reaches of the universe and witness all it had to offer.
Naturally such a technology would cause an untold disaster if word of it ever got out so Kane only wanted to use it to get started and would then completely destroy all traces of it and most likely never use it again. It wouldn't be the first time that someone had attacked another with the sole purpose of stealing something to gain or take away an advantage or just simple greed. Once Kane had a start up of a few ships they could be sent out into the universe to act as cartographers. This would enable them to construct a star chart of all planets suitable to terraform for colonization or those already fit for that purpose, other races and space empires territories and the strategic points to hold for military or mining value. Obviously the ships wouldn't just be glorified cartographers as that would be a waste. They would have all the necessary equipment and components on board to terraform and start up colonies and mining operations as well as a whole range of other things. Nanites can be programmed to build and mine anything the old fashioned way and canisters of genetically engineered spores for terraforming planets could be stored in large quantities as neither take up a lot of room. Towards this end every ship would have to be overseen by an AI to control all the tasks.
Finally after spending tedious hours upon hours of drawing up many different designs and blueprints for various things, the data from both satellites arrived. Kane was quiet surprised as there where a few metals as well at organic materials that he hadn't heard of before, possibly courtesy of being in a different dimension and also there was an advanced technological civilization in Africa using rudimentary cloaking technology. Apparently the core components of their technology and what allowed them to have many technological marvels, at least compared to the rest of the world that is, was a special metal which could only be found nowhere else in the entire world but in their territory. Even more surprising was that it shared some traits with quintanium! Looks like Kane wasn't the only one hiding himself from the ever watchful, prying eyes of the rest of the world with superior technology.
