Yi Ling did feel like her soul was out of place; she wasn't in her body, after all. She needed to concentrate and get stronger. King Jin wasn't lying about it. She sighed.
"Fine, I'll go back to your palace, but I have conditions!" Yi Ling folded her arms together.
Now that she was agreeing, King Jin couldn't help but feel relieved inside, though he didn't show it on his face. "Anything," he replied.
"I don't want to be your consort! I want my own courtyard, and no one can know about me." She didn't want to live in his quarters. People might think that they'd slept together, which would be like admitting that she was his consort! Also, the body she was using right now had been killed by someone. She smelled some medicine when she first woke up in it. If she was correct, that medicine would have been poison. A chill ran down her spine.
Hearing what she just said, he smirked. As long as he could keep her inside his palace, it didn't matter.
"Are you still able to walk?" he asked. Yi Ling looked like a fragile glass to him right now. He would have just carried her back to the palace, but he promised not to touch her anymore. Oh wait, his hands were still holding her hips. He looked at her, checking if it was alright.
Yi Ling shook her head. "I can't. I used up all my energy to run and carry that. Bring those herbs with us." He was strong anyways; he ought to have a space bag with him, she thought.
King Jin looked at the herbs, his brows furrowed. "Why are you carrying a bunch of weeds?" he couldn't help but ask.
"What weeds? They are spiritual herbs!" There was no mistake in it; she could feel the spiritual energy inside the herbs.
"They are indeed spiritual herbs, but they are the common ones. Why do you need them? If you need herbs, this King can open his medical garden for you," he bragged. These weeds were nothing compared to the herbs in his garden. Although he never planted nor took care of them, they were his.
"No, I need them even if they are weeds in your eyes. Will you be able to carry them back for me?" Yi Ling thought. Might as well use this royal pig. She was dead tired of carrying it.
King Jin saw that she was serious; she really wanted these weeds. He sighed. He flicked his sleeves, and the herbs were gone.
"Thanks!" Yi Ling said gratefully.
"This King knows what he just said, but if this King doesn't carry you, we won't arrive at the palace till tomorrow. Will you let this King carry you back as well?" King Jin asked gently. He wanted to bring her back quickly so that he could nurse her again.
This lecherous pig, still taking advantage of the weak! Yi Ling was furious, but what else could she do?
King Jin smiled. It had been a while since he smiled at someone. She was really something. He could see that she didn't like what he said, but he couldn't help but tease her.
~ If only you didn't run away. Look at what happened to you. ~ King Jin thought.
He lifted her up and carried her like his princess. Sooner or later, I'll make her mine. I'll be patient. He smiled at her again, warmly this time.
Yi Ling looked at those deep purple eyes. She couldn't help but think that they were so beautiful. If only he wasn't a pig, she sighed. Wait, what? What am I thinking! She slapped her face.
King Jin's brows lifted up. He really couldn't understand himself. Why did he want this girl? She was too ordinary and had no sense at all. He sighed inside.
They headed their way back to the palace. Along the way, Yu Ran and the Golden Knights saw the King carrying a young man. Their brows crossed. They looked at each other.
No matter how you see it, they looked like a couple. What was going on!? King Jin didn't stop and kept on going. Left with no choice, they followed him.
