Yi Ling had a bountiful harvest. She even found some herbs that she needed to break her Second Seal, such as the Bloody Ginseng, Green Holy Sage, GoldenSeal, and the MaidenHair Tree. They were the precious treasures of the Mo Family, but compared to spiritual water, Mo Yan just had to give in. On top of it, Linyu wanted one of every single herb as well. Their treasury was almost empty. He sighed. It's for a greater cause, he thought.
Mu Xin had given her a list of what she needed to break her Second Seal. Luckily, there weren't any spiritual herbs on the list. However, she needed to mix it with Linyu's green leaves and spiritual water. Mu Xin explained that this was to replenish her weak soul.
After handing over the spiritual water, Mo Yan tried to treat them to a meal before they left, but Linyu firmly declined. Yi Ling made Linyu ask if they knew any places that sold cauldrons. Mo Tian instantly volunteered to be their guide. Mo Tian was smart enough to try to befriend their guests, as it might bring the Mo Family to a brighter future. Mo Yan agreed to Mo Tian's suggestion. They left the premises once everything was settled.
By now, Mo Tian was used to both of them not speaking much at all. Earlier, his grandfather and he had been on edge. It's hard to know a person's thoughts if they don't talk, much less if you can't even see their facial expressions.
The three of them and Mo Tian's servant headed toward the blacksmithing street.
"Here you can see a bunch of shops selling all kinds of weapons. From daggers, knives, sabers, swords, and bows," Mo Tian explained. He didn't get any response at all, but he kept on going.
Linyu noticed that Yi Ling stopped at a particular shop. It wasn't much of a shop; it was a bit shabby. Everyone stopped as well when Yi Ling stopped. Mo Tian was keen on observing the younger one. Yi Ling went inside the store without paying any mind to her group.
As she got inside, she saw rows of weapons. Just a small variety of them. Nothing noteworthy. She kept on walking as if she had been here before and then stopped in front of a bow that was placed inside a case. She kept staring at it. Mo Tian was puzzled by Yi Ling's taste. The bow looked old; it appeared very delicate and girly.
A shopkeeper came out from the back door. When he saw that he had some customers, his smile went wide. It had been a while since he had sold anything.
"Young masters, may your humble servant help you pick anything?" the shopkeeper tried to converse with them.
Nobody spoke since it was Yi Ling who wanted to come inside this shop. Everyone looked in her direction, and the shopkeeper saw the clue. It must have been this little young master who wanted to buy something. When he saw where Yi Ling was looking, his eyes furrowed.
"Young master, are you interested in this bow?" he asked nicely. Yi Ling didn't say a word nor did she look at him. She just nodded while she kept staring at the bow.
The bow had a faded green color and gold linings. The string seemed so old that it might break the first time someone pulled it. It looked like it was meant for ladies, for display purposes. When a lady just wants to impress the man of her choice. Nobody knew why Yi Ling wanted it, even Linyu was confused. Little did they know that it was Mu Xin who had ordered her to come inside the shop.
