"From where?" I asked confused. >Atlantis? Like the ancient underwater city back on 'my' earth?< I was especially confused because I almost never hear references to earth. And especially not ones that are so specific.
"Atlantis!" She repeated still excited.
"Uhh..." I tried to weigh my opinions. >Saying yes and probably stepping into the next stumbling stone or saying no and still being in charge of explaining myself.< "Yes!" I said confidently. >Taking the easy way as always... At least I can keep my secret.<
"Wow, wow, wow, WOW!" She was now wriggling around with her whole body. Or at least that's what I guessed seeing her robe that almost covered her whole body. flounder everywhere. "Oh my god, oh my god."
>She really can't handle it, huh?<
"And?" She asked, looking at me like she was expecting something.
"And what?" I asked back.
She rolled her eyes and looked at me blank for a few seconds. "I wanna know how it is, dummy!" She gave me a light punch to the shoulder and was all excited again.
"Great..." I said a bit hesitant. Before realizing that I kinda stopped being confident and probably believable as well. "There are no Monsters and everything is so nice, really!" I tried my best to improvise, but also knew that I failed horribly.
"How does it look? How does it look?"
"It is a giant half-sphere that is at the bottom of the sea." I made some kind of hand gesture symbolizing how big it is. "You can only access through a special ship that is located on the coast."
"Oh wow, really!" She was jumping up and down now.
"Yup, and we have an endless amount of supplies and there is always peace."
"Oh my!" She looked like she would faint every second now. "I am soooo jealous!"
"I wish I could show you", I said, not realizing that I was just about to lead myself into the next trap and even more excuses.
"Then do! Pleaaassseeee!" She was begging and it felt like she would get down on her knees every second now.
"I'm sorry", I said. trying to sound as sad as possible.
"Why?"
"I can't go back..." Turning away from her. I tried my best to act as sad as possible, getting myself out of this situation asap.
"Why is that?" She said worrying and probably sad because she couldn't go with me.
"I got kicked out..." I sniffed my nose, trying to fake cry, but failed miserably. I probably looked like the worst actor ever to breathe a single breath right now.
But she didn't seem to care that much. Her brain was still focused on the fact that she thought I was from Atlantis. "How did you do that!? Why would you do that?"
"I tried to be a hero!" I said turning around to her again. I kept my eyes open the whole time I had my back in her direction, trying to make my eyes look as watery as possible. "I tried to help you, people, up here. I wanted to get more people into the safe zone!" >Wow...< I was surprised by myself. >That was a good story I guess...<
"Oh no!" She took a few quick steps in my direction and hugged me. "Thank you for trying!" She began to sob.
>Was it really that believable?< I couldn't believe that I just talked myself out of that so smoothly. >Well if there are two things I can do good it's defiantly getting myself into a bad situation and getting myself out of bad situations<
"Thank you for trying! And excuse me for being so rude earlier."
"It is all fine!" I said determinedly. "My goal is still to help you!" I couldn't help, but notice how small she was compared to me. Her head bearly reached my chest while she was hugging onto me.
"That's also my goal!" She said, looking up to me from my chest. "I am a hunter, trying to help my people at the shelter as good as I can!"
"That's great!", I said happily. "I bet we would make a great team!"
"Yeah, I think so too!" She answered, taking a step back and releasing me from her tight hug. "But first let's go to the camp! I bet you need some gear first!"
"Yes, that's true. I only got that blaster." I pointed at the blaster that was still hanging down my belt. In almost every other dimension that blaster was a super-powerful weapon. But here, in comparison to the sniper that the girl was wielding, it seemed like a water gun. >I hope she has one of these for me! That gun looked sick!<
