Edward
Days and night passed by. The burning sun kept raging rays on my skin rotationally as the moon shone at night. Its been three days since I escaped from Zarmin city. My conscience wouldn't let me rest. I could still feel the massive mushroom cloud of smoke vividly in my mind. The emotion to the dead and injured still filled my thought. I could never come to terms with myself for I was the one whom brought down hell upon those innocent souls.
Akmoon day had passed. Thankfully, I had enough blood banks to fulfil my hunger that might but it shortened my ration. Almost all of them were used to sustain any urge. Now, I was left with two blood banks which was hardly enough as it seems so I had to find a place as soon as possible even though I didn't know where the hell I was going, I kept on riding bareback on and on from dust to dawn without stopping.
Sometimes, each time I take a nap, I could feel my hunters drawing nearer and nearer with vigour and stealth. I could feel their rage in their eyes, the sound of their brawling and the feets stumping the earth making it tremble. Unfortunately, I thought I was dreaming but when I opened my eyes, I saw numerous torches from behind.
It was all dark and one could hardly see in a forest but numerous fire torches drew towards me closer and closer. It was then followed by angry strange voices. I was up the creek. My hunters had found me!
I hurriedly took my belongings, banded them to my horse. With all speed and agility these foul beings drew closer and closer and instantly from out of the unknown, I heard another strange voice; words of some sorts. Its sounded like a phrase of some sort which I could understand.
ASINDINA FYLGOM KAATENSIOC!
This strange words continued to repeat itself again and again. I remembered these same words. Those words always disturbs me my sleep each night but this was strange. This time, I could hear it in my very surroundings. I looked to and fro to see who may be doing this but to no avail.
All I could see was my hunters coming closer to me. They seem regardless to the strange voice. They couldn't hear the voices. l seems to be the only deafless creature.
I hid as they drew closer and closer, trying to encircle me. Then, it was at that moment something spectacular happened. Suddenly, There was a loud roar. My hunters stopped in shock. They looked to the direction of the sound trying to figure out its origin. Then, it roared again with so much might that it shaked the trees and moved the earth.
My Hunters now antagonizing each other in fear began to move gradually towards the sound. They staggered until they stopped instantly. One of the hunters gave a signal. The hunter saw behind the trees. Then, right there, Mother nature cripped on wildly.
Immediately, out from the forest came two lions each with eyeballs of rage began to attack the hunters. Their spears-like claws were driven into the hearts of my enemies. Their tooth-like razors lavishly devoured their prey. None of my hunters looked for help as they seem to delict in agony.
With my strange decoy at hand, I quickly took my horse and with my last strenght I had In me, I rode away past my hunters as they watch and scream In pain. I rode on and on until I was finally safe from their wrath.
I was finally out from the forest till I got to the most excruciating part of my journey. My heart fell within me as I stared at the open wide spaces of the Olympus Desert.
Legend has it that a great King from the north died here, cremated and buried in the tombs of Agrimba. Eventually, his remains spread through the earth mailing all trees to disappear and birds to depart from this strange place. Now,his remains turned this blessed rainforests into a zone of the dead.
His remains now fills the earth with pure sand with the intense burning heat of the sun. No lives there. Not even got camping nor informational purpose. It became a wasteland, filled up with dirt and its streaming privileges and I was all in it.
My journey in Olympus Desert took another two days from me. My blood banks was emptied. No water at all. My mouth became dry and my toes wrinkled in the intense heat of the sand. I couldn't bear this anymore, I thought.
I should just die here and let the hunters forsake me at last. I finally gave up hope of survival. My mind shut down. I fell to the floors of the earth, departing away into a deep sleep.
24 hours later...
I woke in a strange place. I was on a wooden bed, a bamboo made. I looked up to see the lights and distinct rooftops. I grazed round. There I was In a strange house. It seems to be occupied by unknown citizens. My eardrums hooked up something. I heard strange voices from outside, a very erratic sound. It was an unusual voice.
I hurriedly came down from the bed, wore my boots and picked up my clothes. I was about leaving with the stolen items in the room when an unfamiliar face walked up towards me. A female with a face of that of an Angel spoke up to me: "You have to rest. You are extremely tired from your journey"
I picked up a broom stick behind me, pointing it to the strange lady speaking to me. I spoke up in fear: "Who are you and what do you want?"
The strange lady came up towards me, holding out my broom stick at the other end and taking it off my hands gently. I sat down as she touches my neck with a wet blanket.
"I and my colleagues found you in the desert. What were you doing there? No one ever goes there. Its a death risk. What was your business there?", asked the young beautiful lady attending to my injuries.
"It was nothing, just nothing. Please can you tell me where I am?", I talked slowly to the lady whom dropped the blanket on the table.she replied with a friendly smile on her cheek: "This, Master Edward is my town where the rich also cry and the poor cries more louder. Welcome to Captens Borough. My name is Uriel. I am happy to see you alive upon your struggle in that deadly desert".
I didn't even care less about the name nor its attributes of the town. I only suddenly figure out something weird.
"How did you know my name?"
"It was written on your luggage tag which was tied to your horse", Uriel replied pohinting at the luggage placed at the other side of the room. I quickly stood up, asking about the most culminate part of the conversation.
"Where is my horse?"
"Its right back, at the stable", replied Uriel again with an annoyed look on her face but I didn't care about that. I stood up, dragging my feet against the floor. I then realised that I had no time by my side.
"What the distance between Olympus Desert and Captens?", I asked curiously.
"Well, its just a mile, its sure a..."
A mile! And I had been here forever? My hunters would be closer to me by now. I cut up our conversation with Uriel. I quickly grabbed my sword and luggage as Uriel watches me as I was about to leave the room.
"Where are you going? You need to rest, Edward", lamented the maiden Uriel in despair.
"Generous maiden, thanks for finding me in that Desert but you don't understand. I have to get out of here as soon as possible", I hastily spoke up to Uriel fir Godknowas what was on my mind was bigger than what she could handle.
I was about opening the door when I heard neighing sound of horses outside. it was followed by clanking sounds of metal. Then, a loud brawl was heard. I was too late. They have found me. My hunters were here in Captens!
I locked the door behind me, going close to Uriel telling her to be quiet. She whispered to me: "What the hell is going on?"
"Not a sound now. Remain still", I instantly revolted insisting that she should be quiet as possible as she can be. I looked round the room for supplies. I finally guarded the door with some footstools and the table. I and Uriel then laid flat on the ground, crawling silently towards a rat hole by the side of the room. I peeled through the tiny hole. I couldn't see much but the little was enough to reason with fear.
There I was, with my new anomous friend, Uriel peeking losely to the hole scared of our lives. There I saw a horse legs. It seems to be a white horse. The rider of black cloak outfit unmounted from the horse. His boots seemed strange and barbaric so was his outfit. I couldn't see his face, only his legs. Suddenly, a rat came out of the hole.
It went directly to the other end. The strange goon reached out for his sheath, he drew out his sword, thrashing a strange sword on the belly of the poor animal.
He wielded a strange sword like one I have never seen before. A long sword with strange inscription on it and most importantly, with a blazing inferno covered by it. A sword of metal and fire. I and Uriel shambled in fear.
The strange individual drew up his sword in the air and spoke up with a loud din: "Head for the town. Kill anything that moves or talk. Scatter the town. Find the Everlasting and bring him to me!"
With the utterance of those words, There was a sudden brief dynamic bawl then next was the running footsteps of about a thousand feets. I watched as these foul creatures with the strange man scattered the earth, moving quickly towards the heart of the town. I waited patiently until the coast was clear.
I opened the door, leading myself towards the back of my horse but Uriel stopped me. I knew she was in need of answers.
"Edward or whatever your name is, what was that all about? Who was that man in black? I have never seen such a weapon in the history of Darmich. How does that connect to you?", asked Uriel in fear.
"I have no idea of what you are talking about", I responded wildly.
"Oh for Adin sake, don't give me that fucking lie, I know that you have something to do with that… ", replied Uriel as she drags my hands back, making eye contact. She continued to inquire about her questions.
"...and What does 'The Everlasting' means to you?", said Uriel.
"Like I said, I have no idea!", I spoke up angrily. I was totally not in the mood for time wasting matters but the lady didn't give up.
Uriel looks in anger. She turned as she continued to ask: "Then why are you in haste? You are trying to leave, ain't you? I can see the flair in your eyes. You are scared of that strange man right? if not, you would have stayed. You are a fugitive. I know you see that I am absolutely correct".
I knew she have found out the truth instantly. I couldnt hide it anymore. I just had to pour our the truth. I tied up my luggage and looked up to her:"Yes, I am trying to run away but not as a fugitive but as a survivor. Ever since I deserted from my home land, I have been chased by an anomorous group. Since I touched a certain orb, my life have never been the same. I have been roaming from one city to another and to aggravate it, anywhere I go, death follows. I have nothing about these hunters except for this scarf".
I showed her the scarf I got from Zarmin. She held it in her hands. Immediately she saw the symbol, she dropped it to the ground in fear. I looked into her eyes. It seemed like she have seen a ghost.
"What's the matter? Are you okay?", I asked out of fear for the horror I saw in her eyes was for me to get freaking cautious.
She looked at me as I thrushed the scarf back to my luggage. She seems frightened and all but her words gave me courage. She held my hand and said: "If you want to live, follow me. Get only your luggage and follow me immediately".
I took my luggage and quickly followed my strange friend into the town. Surprisely but still not sure, I think we took another route into town - A short cut. I didn't seem to know the whereabouts around this town.
All I did was to pour questions on Uriel whom seemed to be mute but energetic and vigilant of my hunters. The more we walked into the town, The more I got curious.
"Uriel, where are you taking me?", I asked curiously.
"I am taking you to safety, Edward", Uriel replied as we continued on our unknown journey to the unknown.
After pacing through the Streets of Captens now swarming with strange men in black entering both houses and buildings killing any individual in their path, I just had to trust this strange girl.
Finally, we reached out destination, The Black River. There she got a boat with paddles and gave them to me. Before she left, she passed on a message to me: "Go to Cladus City. The answer to your query lies there".
I got so curious. Why Cladus city? It might've a trap.
"Why do I have to go there? Why should I trust you?", I asked still not satisfied with everything that has been laid upon me.
"You don't have to trust me. Trust the man whom you should seek for. A man with the Name "CHIMEANDEL". He will expand your ideas on your case", replied Uriel.
Uriel turned back, running from the river bank in fear for the sound of the hunters were approaching. I continued my question aloud; "Why wouldn't you tell me yourself?"
"I don't possess the power to do that. Remember, find Chimeandel and always keep that scarf close to you at all times. It will help you soon enough in your travels. Now go, your hunters are not far behind", Uriel responded with hastiness in her words.
I could hear the bawling of the hunters approaching nearby. I quickly took the paddle as I turned around to appreciate my saviour. I couldn't see Uriel anymore. She has left for the fear of her death.
Distantly, I began to see figures of black clothes men in rows coming forward. I paddled and paddled until I was in the middle of the river. There, I looked up, staring at the man on the white horse with his blizzard sword on his left hand. He stared back at me. I tried to figure out his face but it seemed to be covered by a thick shadow.
I couldn't identify the man in black. He eventually rides his horse back into the town as his soldiers runs deep into the heart of the town, leaving the shore.
I got to the other side of the Black river. As quickly as I could, I took my luggage.
I looked round for any substance essential for my new journey. It wasn't much a step i took when I saw a brown-skin horse by the signpost. In there was some food and drinks. I searched more and found some blood banks.
I looked at the tag labelled on it which reads "Coutesy of Captens from Uriel". Real folks really exist!
I similed in bliss as I tied my luggage on my brand new girl. There, I was looking at the sun. I looked up to the signpost "18 miles to Cladus City". I hiked forward moving myself into the desert fire for the search of the truth of my existence.
Meanwhile back in Captens Borough...
Samson enters his leader's tent with some information about their prey: "My Lord, The Everlasting escaped. He is heading to Cladus City as we speak".
The strange man whom was looking behind spoke with a deep accent to reply Samson: "I know this. He will try to meet the Great Druid".
"But we should hunt him down! He shall never see that old bastard", replied the zealous Samson as he lays his head on the floors.
The strange man turned back at Samson, moving towards the door. He then gave an order to his commander: "The hunt for the Everlasting is out of our hands now. It now rests on Our fellow acolytes but we shall still go to Cladus City but I can't be in there. Chimeandel will feel my presence. Gather some men and head of the North wing of the city. It will lead your straight to the rest of the soldiers"
Samson then spoke to his master. He felt a negative approach: "But what if Chimeandel gets to the Everlasting before we do?"
The strange man stopped moving. He looked up to the sky as he watched Samson leaves his presences. There, he murmured in disbelief: "Then, The rise of Our Queen will be futile"
Uriel watches in secret as Samson took a number of twenty soldiers on horse towards their new destination: "To Cladus City for the the Everlasting!"
But now, the plan would be much more complicated as they fear the wrath of their very own foe, Chimeandel.
Uriel whispers silently as she watches Samson and his war soldiers leaves Captens borders, talking under her tongue: "May the protection of the God of life lead you to safety, Edward"
She walked staggerly as she was covered in blood, stained in her own blood from head to toe as a group of trooper soldiers carried her to the Cockpit of their leader and eventually…
To the Underworld.
