Chapter 27 - Chapter 22

Ayana-

"So you're telling me the Mission's are fake, a ploy for the Principal to take over the realms and that you're half-demon?"

"Yep."

I look at my sister's face with a look of acceptance, "You know I'm not surprised you were always mean when we were kids." Ariana only laughed shaking her head.

"I'm only half-demon not full and the other part is human. So I'm not going to turn into a scaly dark creature. Though now that i think about it would actually be cool."

I shook my head looking around the room. The people here were 18 and in there early twenties. They worked or lounged in the room casually throwing glances my way. They didn't know who the girl with white hair was. Lately I didn't know either. After finding out I'm Cryokinetic, -or at least that's what Tristan called it- I was having a hard time figuring out who I was. I didn't even know if I was a White. And if I was, would it be bad?

I looked behind me seeing Tristan sit next to Axel having a conversation. Surprisingly they seemed to be getting along. I smiled when Tristan laughed at a something Axel said, he really was cute. I turned back to Ariana, "Tell me more about the Principal."

She sighed heavily, "The Principal has been planning this for years. About sixty years ago her and her father created the missions under a false purpose. They wanted to use us to take over the other realms. Lucky for us it didn't work, over the years people started to catch on that these "missions" were unnecessary. So they formed the Resistance as we like to call it. Its kept secret for our safety and we've been planning how to take down the Principal once and for all. Though it's not easy, she has the council on her side believing her lies. But...now that we have you I think we might just have a chance."

I look at her confused, "Me?" What could I possibly do?

Ariana leaned in, "I know what you are Ayana." She looked at my head, " The hair kind of gives it away now, but I've known since you were little. I'm sorry to say this, but we're not related at least not by blood."

My eyes widened, "I'm adopted?"

She nods slowly, "All of us are, even Iyla. Mom and Dad are not are real parents. But Ayana.....that doesn't mean mom doesn't love us she does, very much. So when we go home which we will, we can't blame her for anything. For all we know she could have been forced to take us. Okay?"

I nodded not entirely processing. Mom wasn't really mom and dad wasn't' really dad? All of us weren't related by blood, I was fine with that blood doesn't make a family. But it made me think who were my biological parents.

Did they give me away or was I taken?

We had decided to go get the others to bring them to the tunnels. Tristan and Axel had gone to get them while I stayed with my sister. At this moment we were walking down a hallway with guest rooms that I could see were filled. We turned to another hallway finding it vacant.

"This is where you and friends will be staying. There a little dusty but still stable." My sister turned to me smiling, "I'm so glad to have you with us, sis."

I smirked knowingly, "You missed me?"

She raised an eyebrow, "Yeah I missed having someone to torture. Now pick a room." I pushed opened the first one I saw liking it. It was medium sized, big enough to have three pr more people. There was a a bed and a dresser and door that lead to a small walk in closet.

"This one's nice, I'll take it." I hear my sister sigh before leaving me alone to get settled. I didn't have my clothes with me, Tristan had said he would bring my stuff with the others. There weren't any windows and I had a special yearning to go to the snowy woods again. The air was warm hear and it almost felt like I couldn't breathe.

I sat on the creaky bed running a hand through my hair. I didn't expect my day to go like this, to see my sister after two years. Two years of no contact whatsoever. A surge of anger built up at Ariana, but I quickly pushed down. It wasn't her fault.

Whenever someone found out the Principal's plans they were quickly silenced or threatened and Ayana didn't want to go through that. So i had to understand why she didn't call or comeback. I sighed getting up again.

I walked through the halls going back to the large living room. Some people were still there and gave me smiles as I walked by. I only nodded feeling weird with their stares on me. Once I made it to my destination I knocked thrice then opened.

I immediately breathed in stifling hot air and almost backed out but pushed my discomfort own and stepped in. My sister was sitting on her bed drawing in a journal. I walked over plopping down next to her. Her drawing was of a castle. It was gray and greatly detailed without any color.  I pressed a finger to it whispering, "Its pretty."

My sister only smiled, "It kind of reminds me of home." I nod flicking my hair to one side.

I felt her eyes look at and was surprised when I heard her gasp. "What?"

I look at her seeing her eyes wide and a face of disbelief. She was staring at my neck pointing a finger.

"Ayana... is that a hickey?" Her words were quiet but it was like she was shouting.
