Ayana-
My room was organized if you didn't count my messy closet. I had dozens of clothes in there, though they were mostly casual things. I only had one dress in my closet, it was blue and was supposed to be for my sister's wedding. I never got the chance to wear it.
My sister had gotten her mission two years ago, she failed it and was supposed to be exlied. When the day came she ran away and was never seen or heard from again. I don't know where she went. Her match Alan didn't know either. He was heartbroken without her.
He usually kept in his house these days, doing who knows what. I felt bad for him, to never see your match again would be devastating.
Most people in my senior class have found their matches. I was literally the only person who didn't have one. Even Sarah had one.
I had heard from people that you find your match in dreams. Or maybe you see them one day and everything just clicks in place. But who was I kidding I didn't know anything about that. This was only what I had observed in school.
I mean was something wrong with me. I was pretty, I believed that. I had black hair as darkness the midnight sky. My eyes were a special blue that reminded you of the sparkling sea. I was quiet but no where near shy. I only spoke when I needed too. I usually let all my fighting speak. I was good with arrow, swords, and one on one combat. I was a natural fighter my mother always told me.
I went to my bed and lay looking at the star covered ceiling. They were green but glowed in the dark at night. My sister has done then for me when I turned 16. It wasn't because I was scared of the dark, at the time I was fascinated with the moon and the stars so I asked for them on my birthday. It was the last gift she gave me before she disappeared.
I felt my eyes water. I was thinking too much! I immeadiatly got up and changed my clothes into a hoodie and leggings. I put some sneakers andn tied my hair into a loose pony tail. I left my room and closed the light heading for the front door. A few hours had passed and the sun was setting.
My mom and Iyla were sitting in living room still, though I could smell food from the kitchen. I ignored my hunger and opened the door, "Mom, I'm going running." She only nodded keeping focus on the TV, she used to this. It was routine for us.
I went out starting a slow jog, the getting faster and faster. I was running down the sidewalk passing houses over and over. The thing was I had barely began to sweat. You could my feet hiring the pavement hard, but no sweat. It was infuriating.
I continued running for about and hour them circled around to my house. When I got to the driveway it was dark and the full moon was out. I stopped and sat down on the front steps looking up at the sky.
The stars really were beautiful.
After a few seconds a yellow light caught my eye. I turned and the house across the street had one of it rooms open. Someone named Tristian lived their. I didn't know him at all, he was a senior also. He had just moved here a week ago, and I hadn't had a good enough reason to go and say hello. It wasn't my type of thing.
The rooms curtains were moved aside and I looked. Tristan was looking out and he spotted me. We made eye contact and stared at each other for a while. Their was a weird emotion in his eyes that I didn't know. I looked away from him and shook my head in wonder. When I looked up again the curtain was closed.
I sighed and got up entering the house.
