Chapter 1 - Notebook 13 - A Prologue?

Would you believe me if I told you all this started because of a Notebook? No?

Yeah! I wouldn't believe it either.

I found out that sometimes you need to write things down, either to exorcise them, to put them away, or to just vent them out, all for the sake of future reference, I am now on Notebook 13, the other twelve are rather irrelevant as they are just notes on daily life, whatever I'm thinking, books, music, anime and games.

Notebook 13 on the other hand is a careful and detailed journal of my coding and gaming exploits, it's got my best moves of the last couple of years, lots of gaming tips and cheats, it's even got my playlists!

Who knew winning a game could bring such disastrous consequences to my real life?

Not me, that's for sure.

What are the odds? Really? How can the one person that should never have access to my notes be the one to find my Notebook? 'Yo! Mr. Omniscient? Did you fall asleep in my life span or what??' It's not like I carry it with me all the time, only when I go to gaming championships or events, I actually think this is totally messed up, the powers above (Mr. Omniscient) must have some kind of problem with me, first the guy is my new neighbor, second he's staying at my house while his parents are away and his house is being renovated, third he hates my guts (sore loser, if I ever met one), fourth my mom loves him to bits, fifth my Nainai (grandmother) loves him too, sixth I think I might have the tiniest crush on him, so yeah Doomsday is a joke if you compare it to my life.

My uneventful life went from zero to hundred real fast, I have always stayed under the radar, I find it easier to live that way, doing what is expected of me, school is not a problem, as I am just one of many, nothing to distinguish me, unless you look at my grades, but even those are normal for American Chinese students, simply put, I am very average, medium height, medium weight (but that could change over time cause I'm a chocolate addict) I dress in jeans and large T's, some brand sneakers and backpacks, I always pull my long black hair into a ponytail and most of the time I manage to hide my light green eyes (my only distinguishable feature) behind tinted glasses.

I try my best to blend in with the crowd, but that changed from one moment to the other, no warning whatsoever, I found the meaning behind the expression "don't get your panties in a twist" is a very good example of sarcasm, because we all face problems differently.

When I thought that there wasn't much more to life than suffering through all the:

'What are you going to do with your life? Have you decided what Uni's to apply for?'

BAAMM! Life just kicks you in the chin, like it's saying, 'Wakey, wakey, time to smell the coffee!'

Right now, I would sell my soul to the devil, just to go back to being a simple American-Chinese girl, who likes to play games, learn code, watch anime, listen to K-pop and hang out with her friends and whose only problem lies with the choices for her future. (Major issue right here, how can you be ready to choose a path when you're only seventeen? Most days I can't even decide what to have for breakfast, let alone pick a career for life! All everyone knows to say is, you need to be the best, you need to be the smartest, never let anyone outwit you, it's the only way to win.

Well, may I beg to differ? There's so much more to a person than his or her brain, sure, being smart is good, it gives you choices, but sometimes being too smart can also be a pain, in more ways than one, believe me, I know it.)

Geez! Forget future, right now I'm just trying to survive, living one day at a time and most days I'm living one hour at a time.

Have you ever thought if you are happy, or what happiness means? It has so many contrasting meanings, because it's different for everyone, just like love...and...hate.

Yeah, you can see where this is going, right?

The age old problem that is common to every teenage girl and boy? Whether they are heterosexual, bisexual or homosexual...or any other forms... LOVE... well that, and sex... sometimes not in that particular order or not in any order at all, welcome to the XXI century.

Well, sorry to dampen your hopes (at least for a while) but my biggest problem right now is how am I going to get my Notebook back! I don't really care about what goes under anyone's sheets (sorry I'm a bit old fashioned) or wherever you may want to get your freak on.
