"- sin, do you co-," sounded through a radio.
"Daesin, do you copy?!"
The boy sitting next to the radio picked up the microphone.
"Roger, sir. This is Daesin."
"Good, do you see that old man walking into Green Alley? Check him out. He's your next target."
Daesin watched the old man. It was in fact a monster that used a human camouflage. He had quite a good eyesight, as he could see the man from 100 meters away.
"I see the disgusting two-headed dog. What did he do to get himself targeted?" Daesin asked bewildered. 'This monster certainly got a place in my top 10 for ugliest monsters I've ever seen.'
"He killed a bunch of kids a couple of weeks ago… You know, just shoot him!" He ordered.
~Swooshh~ could be heard as the bullet left the barrel. With his finger resting on the trigger Daesin looked through the scope of his Barrett M95. All he could see was a corpse lying on the ground and brains all over the place.
'Dude, his head exploded,' Daesin said in himself.
"Dude, his head exploded," sounded through the radio at the exact same time. "That was cool... You're done. Go to school now."
It's 7 o'clock in the morning on a Monday. Daesin had to arrive at school at 8:15 and the lessons would start at 8:30. He still had to go home and change clothes. What he was wearing right now were a black suit and a red tie, and he had to change into his new school uniform.
"Yes sir, I'm on my way."
"Hey, the job is done. Just call me by my name!" The voice on the radio responded.
"Yes, Michael… Now don't bother me anymore, I'll see you soon enough!" And with that, Daesin turned off the radio.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
'Shit, it's 8:15. I'm gonna be late…'
Daesin put his phone away and started walking faster. If he kept walking at this speed he would arrive at approximately 8:25. But he still had to find his class. So that would at least delay him with another 5 minutes.
'This is going to be a problem.'
He decided to run a small bit, to shorten the estimated time with a couple of minutes.
"KYAA!!"
"!?"
Daesin turned his head real quick. 'Shit, are you serious. Now I'm really going to be late…'
He ran towards the sound and soon entered a dark alley. A girl was lying on the ground, unconscious, while a monster was bowing over her head with his face a couple of centimeters away from her head.
'A Soulsucker? What is that doing over here?' He hadn't noticed the girl. The only thing he now concentrated on was the Soulsucker.
"Hmm, I think I can take it on… It hasn't started sucking her soul out yet." He quickly grabbed a pen out of his pocket. "I guess we're going to do this old school."
~Viet-view,~ he whistled.
The monster finally noticed someone standing in the entrance of the alley. It made a squeaking noise. He bared his fangs toward Daesin and started running towards him as if it was a zombie.
The monster halted abruptly. Nobody was standing there anymore. It quickly recovered its behavior and turned its head towards the girl.
"Squeaakk"
Daesin was there. He picked up the girl and said with a soft voice, "I haven't forgotten about you. Don't worry, I'll bring you to the doctor."
The Soulsucker made an attempt to dash towards Daesin, but it couldn't move anymore. It soon fell dead on the ground, with the pencil sticking out of its head.
Daesin walked over while carrying the girl and snatched the pencil out of its head.
"Well… It's as good as dead."
He took out his phone and searched for a name in his contacts. He didn't have many so he found the contact instantly. Michael. He clicked on the call button and waited.
"Come on, pick up the phone." He said annoyed. After a couple of seconds waiting, the phone went on voicemail. He tried again.
"I swear if you don't pick up the phone right now-"
"Ye, hello? Daesin?"
"Sir, I might have quite the problems here. A Soulsucker has attacked a girl. She might have seen the Soulsucker. What must I do now?" Daesin asked with uncertainty.
"Ahh, so much trouble. Just bring her to the doctor, she will certainly think that she saw a ghost or something. Oh, and be quick. You need to be on time, I'm waiting."
"Y-Yes, sir." He hung up the phone. 'What's this?' The girl was wearing the same uniform as he was wearing. 'Guess I'm making a stop at the infirmary.'
It's now 8:28 and he had to be in class at 8:30. He started to hurry while hanging the girl over his shoulder.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
He arrived at 8:35 and entered the school. He was already 5 minutes too late. To be honest, he didn't even try running. Daesin just fastened his pace.
The school was really quiet. The lessons must have already begun. There were some teachers walking through the school, but there was nothing special to it. It looked like all schools were the same. A huge building, giant sportsfields, everywhere you looked it was clean. However, Daesin looked mesmerized. He had never seen such a big school. To be truthful, this is his first real school day ever.
"Let's see, from what I have heard, schools have an infirmary. Why can't I find it?!" He was standing in the middle of a hallway.
"Hey, hey, hey! Why aren't you in your classroom?"
Daesin looked behind him and saw an old lady in a lab coat walking towards him.
"Ah, you must be the doctor of this school. Can you take care of her?" He said as he handed the girl over to the old woman. 'Wait, no this is wrong. I'll ask her to bring me to the infirmary. I can't let an old person carry a person."
"Bring her to the infirmary. You can't let an old lady carry a person. Hmph, you disrespectful child."
"Eh, ehh. Well, whatever. Where is the infirmary?" He asked with a nervous look on his face.
The old lady looked at him with disbelieve. She pointed at a sign above his head. There was clearly written infirmary on the sign. 'What an odd person.'
Daesin looked at her with a dumb look on her face. "Well, whatever…" He said and carried her inside.
"Put her on the bed and go to your classroom."
He did what she asked and went straight to the classroom area. He was assigned to class 2A. He wondered what the odds are of the teacher being angry and disappointed at him?
The class was on his left, but he didn't dare knock on the door.
~Clack~ The door opened from the inside.
"There you are! Why are you late?"
The voice sounded really familiar. 'Michael? What? Did you mean this when you said you were waiting?'
"Come in and introduce yourself," said Michael.
Daesin stepped inside and closed the door behind him.
