Chapter 36 - Married (Part 1)

Present.

Realisation hit her like a tonne of bricks. Lily looked at Leonard "Where is our marriage certificate?", she still refused to believe that she was married.

"Tsk Tsk Lily, you don't know how much I had to go through to meet your demands." Leonard said, clicking his tongue. He opened the side drawer and brought out the certificate, throwing it on Lily's lap.

"Here check for yourself if you still don't believe me."

Lily took hold of the certificate, reading over it. Black lines appeared on her face. 'What the heck is wrong with my life? I've been married, divorced and then gotten myself entangled in a loveless marriage again.' she thought.

Lily didn't know what to think of this relationship. This was an impulsive decision, on her part. She was very drunk. What she didn't understand was why Leonard allowed this stupidity when he seemed to be perfectly sober. She sighed and looked at him, he was watching her intently.

"What's your reason for marrying me? What's your motive?" She questioned.

Leonard snickered "Kitten, you think too much. You were the one who accused me of stealing your first kiss and said that I should take responsibility for it. So, here I am. Taking responsibility for it." he smirked.

Lily narrowed her eyes "You asshole, don't think I am another one of your playthings. I don't care, this was an impulsive decision, let's just forget any of this happened."

Leonard's eyes turned dark, his expression murderous. He grabbed her hand forcefully and pushed her under him, caging her. Lily gulped as she looked up at him. She had never seen him this angry "Wha...what.. are you doing?" she shuddered.

A rush of anger was building inside him "What the fuck Lily? What sort of person do you think I am? I told you that once you married me there is no going back." he growled and moved to bite her collarbone.

Lily hissed in pain "You are hurting me Leonard".

His sight turned red in anger 'How dare she say she will leave me', Leonard positioned himself so his crotch pressed against her heat. Lily's eyes widened. She could feel his thing become hard even through their clothes.

Leonard moved his hip, rubbing harshly against her vagina. Lily's breath sharpened, an unknown sensation building inside her. All Leonard could think of was to claim her. A possessive feeling that he had never felt for anyone before emerged. When Lily said that she wanted to forget everything that had happened, he lost it. Anger was building inside him. He wanted to punish this woman.

"Feel that kitten? You asked me why I married you, feel how much of an effect you have on me. Marriage is not a joke for me Lily. In the Marshall family divorce is out of the question. So don't spout that bullshit."

Leonard thrust furiously 'Damn these clothes' he groaned inwardly. Lily moaned from the pleasure building inside her. A tear rolled down her face. He brought his hand up inside her blouse and give a hard squeeze to her bra covered breast. Lily gasped loudly, despite not having any experience with intimacy she understood that Leonard was punishing her. Soon, both of them reach their climax and the sound of heavy breathing filled the room.

Leonard moved them so that Lily was sitting on top of him. Lily blushed from embarrassment, she wasn't able to meet his eyes. His lips twitched with amusement and he grabbed her waist, pulling her towards him. He placed his thumb on her right cheek, caressing it softly. Lily's gaze finally met his but she sighed and looked away.

"I don't want to be in a loveless marriage anymore Leonard. Marriage is not a joke to me. It's something that lasts a lifetime. Choosing the wrong person can make life after marriage hell." she said.

Leonard sighed, he understood her reluctance. He grabbed her chin forcing her to look at him. "Lily, my feelings for you are more than just professional. I can't exactly describe them right now but I want you to give this marriage a chance. We don't know what will happen in the future but we can make our present better."

Lily's heart skipped a beat. Zachary had never said anything like this to her. She still remembered the first night of their marriage... she was anxiously waiting for him. She knew that he didn't want to marry her so she just wanted to propose that they could, at the least, live as friends. But that night Zachary came home very late and he was drunk. In his drunken state he furiously grabbed her neck.

"Let me tell you this, you bitch. I will never love you. You are nothing but a nuisance to me." He said as he threw her on the floor. Lily had coughed loudly, gasping for breath.
