As the trio walked out of the Hall Of Hearthlight, Anise once more began to explain the happenings.
"The welcome ceremony serves two purposes. The first is to familiarize everyone in class Sixty-nine with each other. The second is to set rankings for the class."
After they exited the building, the Field of War came into view. But unlike before, there was now a huge coliseum.
"You may be wondering why there is a big coliseum in the field of war." Both boys nodded there head's.
"Classes from the Sixty-Fourth to Sixty-Eighth as well as the faculty and management teams will be spectators."
"Are those the only classes here in the Academy?" Adora spoke up and asked.
"Yes, the Sixty-Third class is out on their graduation assignment, and the classes before them have graduated already."
Soon Daniel and gang heard cheering and clapping.
'Wait, that doesn't sound like two hundred people...'
Daniel turned to look at Anise, who giggled at the look she was receiving.
"Did I forget to mention that the Bright Kingdom is very interested in the happenings of The Myriad Sentinel Academy? Also, the noble houses, large merchants, associations and Lone Pillars have a great interest as well?"
Trh cheering of a large crowd filled his ears. 'It sounds like thousands...'
Daniel frowned. As they neared the coliseum, Daniel quickly spotted the long line that stretched into the horizon at the main entrance.
"As you can already see, the main entrance is too busy so I'll be taking you guys to the participant's entrance."
The Coliseum was made of black stone, and silver engravings. It had sharp corners and edges, like the palaces of old.
"Welcome, Ms. Anise, Mr. Daniel, and Mr. Adora. Please head in, the ceremony will be starting soon." Two guards in Silver greeted the trio as they walked through the entrance.
"Thank you." Daniel nodded to the two guards while Adora and Anise remained silent. The two looked at each other with confused gazes.
At the entrance, a hall stretched out into the middle of the coliseum, however there were washrooms, bathrooms, sauna rooms and gathering rooms on each of the sides, one for boys and one for girls.
The hall was lit by torches which gave of a silver flame, which flickered lightly.
"Alright. We have one hour before we must be at the gathering room. You can wash up, take a bath or train in the sauna room. We'll part here and meet up five before the hour." With that Anise flicked her hair and walked away.
Adora chuckled. "I'll be taking a bath Daniel, what will you do?"
Daniel patted Adora's shoulder as he spoke. "I'll be in the sauna room, I haven't been to one in a while hehe."
Thus, they split up.
Daniel walked over to a room which looked to have cubies. He removed his robes and placed them into one of the cubies. Afterwards, he walked towards the sauna room.
He grabbed the door and opened it, a gust of hot air rushing towards him. Taking a deep breath, Daniel felt the hot air fill his lungs and tickle his skin. The sauna had four dark red torches, one in each corner.
Occasionally, water would be sprayed into one of the torches. The flames were undying, causing the water to evaporate and almost boil in the process.
Daniel looked around as the door shut behind him and found an empty spot. Once he sat down he closed his eyes and began to take slow and deep breaths.
Of course he wasn't alone, there were about twenty others in the sauna room. All of them gazed at Daniel in curiosity.
A boy with green eyes and blonde hair leaned over to another and whispered. "Since when do humans have black hair?" One could hear genuine confusion in his voice.
"I'm not sure, I've never heard of any of us having black hair." The boy who responded had purple eyes and grey hair.
After a moment of whispers, the sauna room returned to its previous silence. Daniel's loud breathing was the only sound which echoed within the room.
Daniel was immersed in the feeling of the hot air mixed with vapor flow into his lungs and slowly penetrate every pore.
Back on earth this is what he would do after workouts or when he was particularly stressed because of exams or finals.
At the end of the session, his body would be incredibly loose, like water molecules moving in the ocean or air currents traveling through the air.
Daniel sighed in bliss as he stood up and stretched his body. He looked around and nodded before walking out of the sauna room.
After Daniel left, the previously quiet sauna room regained some life as the boys inside began to talk out loud.
"Have any of you ever seen someone with black hair? " The boy who had previously whispered spoke out, his curiosity was over flowing.
One of the boys who was pretty buff for his age spoke out. "I've been around a lot of demi-humans and half-breeds. The darkest I've ever seen is brown hair."
Everyone else also voiced out the same thing.
"I guess I'll just have to ask one of the teachers." The boy mumbled to himself.
