Chapter 22 - Ophelia is Goddess Falica's Sister

Sai found two horses from the northern part of the Calm Lands. He said it would better for Dionne to explain to us the situation while we ride towards the Forest of Grief. He said that we needed to rush because we already knew the cause of the chaos in this world. We also need information from Dionne about the goddess and her sister, Ophelia.

We rode on our horse. Sai is with Klein and I am with Dionne. Klein's scars may be gone, he still needed rest because he was over-fatigued from the last battle we just had. His head was resting on Sai's back. He told us he had motion sickness that's why he's trying his best not to throw up.

"Dionne, why did you say that it was the godess' sister," Sai asked and Dionne looked at him and she tightened her grip on my waist. She rested her head on my back while I focused my look on what's in front of us.

"The goddess and I talked to each other when I was still singing in the tower five years ago before all of this happened. She knew I was lonely so from time to time, the goddess would tell me stories. Until one day, she told me about her family," she said then Dionne started telling a story.

"The goddess told me something about her family. She said she had a sister named Ophelia; I believe, the woman we just saw a while ago," she said and continued on with the story.

How can she be sure?

"Ophelia is goddess Falica's older sister. Their parents were the characters of the 'White Book', the opposite of this book.

"That book was even older than this book. They were the very last characters of that book. The father is the protagonist, who fell in love with the antagonist, the mother of Ophelia and goddess Falica."

While Dionne was telling the story, it surprised me to know that there was another book other than the black book.

"When he finished his goal of saving the world, he confessed that he had feelings for the antagonist. The antagonist also realized her feelings for him and they decided to have a family wherein both of them would be very happy.

"Goddess Falica didn't know why their mother changed her mind since she was the antagonist but because of their decision, they were happy that's why they had two children; Ophelia and goddess Falica."

We listened as we journey towards the Forest of Grief.

"Their parents became the god and goddess of that world. The world in the first book and the world in this book are alike. Their world is named 'Fantilia.'

"In order to protect their world, there was also a songstress who would dedicate her life to sing. The first songstress was Ophelia. Because of her beautiful voice, their parents chose her as the songstress. That's why we don't understand their language because she came from the White Book's world. Their language is called 'Tilian.' The only one who could understand her is the goddess."

So that's why she thought our enemy was the godess' sister. She was singing like the songstress as well!

But why is everything like a coincidence?

"Their parents decided to make a new world where their youngest would be the goddess. They wanted to make a new world because the goddess had amazing powers; strong enough to protect the world, like what their parents possessed.

"The goddess agreed because it was what their parents wanted. Ophelia was jealous about it because it was her dream to become a goddess like their mother. Because of her anger, she stopped singing and she used the black magic she inherited from her mother to destroy Fantilia.

"The goddess was 254 years old when it happened in Fantilia. The black book was already made for her that time. The goddess was almost hurt but she was transported by her parents in this book. Because of Ophelia's great anger, their father created a spell for other people not to see this book so Ophelia couldn't enter," she said and guilt started to show on Dionne's face.

"So the moment you stopped singing... the goddess' sister probably took the chance to enter the book," Sai said and Dionne nodded slowly.

"I thought a person from the outside world came but it turned out that it was the goddess' older sister. But why didn't you say this earlier, Dionne? We thought that those people who could create the story of this book were the people coming from Sai and Cevin's world," Klein asked.

Dionne shook her head. "I wasn't so sure until now. I just can't believe it. You think I'd know that the sister of the goddess would be our enemy?" Dionne sighed as she rested her head on my back.

"No matter what happens, we won't give up. We will defeat Ophelia. We just need information on how to defeat her. We need the help of the goddess," Sai suggested and I looked at Dionne who was still clinging on to me.

"Dionne, you don't want to experience the sadness you felt when you were in the tower, right," I asked and she frowned before she nodded as her response. "I'm sure that when we face Ophelia, you'd understand her," I added and all of them looked at me.

"Why would you say that Dionne would understand her," asked Klein and I looked at him.

"They had the same experience. I know both of them wanted to feel freedom. They wanted someone to talk to; someone to be with. They wanted to stop singing, that was why she wanted to become a goddess so she could give a peaceful place where other people can talk to her. She would be with them, too. A place where all people would be happy," I explained and Dionne raised her head to look at the back of my head as I spoke.

"I don't know, Cevin… because of her anger, she's ruining everything," Dionne said and Sai suddenly spoke.

"We still need answers for the questions we have in mind. We need to talk to the goddess," Sai said strongly and we all nodded as the answer.

What Dionne said was true. She stopped singing because she was sad. Ophelia stopped because of jealousy and anger. If what I said about what she felt was true, she wouldn't ruin the beauty of Fantilia and she wouldn't destroy Hartifalia, either. We need to know the whole story from the goddess; what we should do in order to stop her sister.

How can we talk to her?

It was only now that I noticed that I am about to finish my task. Only now that I had this sudden thought.

I looked at Sai and suddenly spoke, "Sai, if you chose to live in this world, how about the people in our original world? Will they forget us? What if they had a search party looking for us," I asked but he was still looking at the path right ahead of us.

"I don't know. Maybe there are people looking for us at this exact moment. I'm not quite sure. I don't know if they forgot about me or if they were looking for me. I don't know if other people were also looking for the people who were chosen by the book. But this I know for sure: all of them wanted to stay here with their family. They even requested to forget their original world, and would replace them with memories that would say they were born here in this world," Sai answered.

"But I heard from Dionne that once the book was finished, people would forget about us and people would get to see this book and read the story with us as characters," I said and Sai nodded.

"Yes, that is true. But since the book is still not finished, we are still missing in our world," he said and I sighed.

Maybe now my sister might've contacted my best friend about my whereabouts, asking if I was staying with him. If he told her I wasn't with him, maybe she would panic and would tell my mom that I'm missing.
