Chapter 4 - The Truth

Diana was siting on the couch, with no expression on her face to say how she really felt. She was holding a cup of calming chamomile tea to help her with the nerves and anxiety attack she just had.

Her gaze turned to the journal sitting on table in front of her. Her sad eyes remembering all the time she spent learning new thing with her father and how happy she was. She sighed as she slowly picked up the journal and opened the first page to read the journal of her father that she missed very much at the moment.

Diana always looked up to her father for guidance when she didn't knew what to do. Her father was also her mentor growing up. So when one day he went missing it took a huge toll on Diana. She had suddenly lost a very important part of her life and that had changed her a lot.

As she read the journal she found out that her father was working on a device. An experiment that was left incomplete by his father. He was making it so that he could take Diana with him to other planets that had life on an adventure. His reason for that was simple, he wanted his daughter to live her life at fullest, which she was not doing at the time after her mother's loss.

But he knew that taking her with him without making sure if its safe or not would be dangerous and so he decided to visit those planets himself first to make sure it will be safe for him to take Diana with him.

He found many planets that had life in this multi dimensional universe but not all of them were safe for a 12 year old.

Then one day he found a planet with was relatively as safe as Earth but the difference was this planet had mythical creatures living here. It was a somewhat of a modern world according to Earth standards of 21st century before the doom. But there were also cultivators there and it was beautiful. He had decided to bring her with him here next time he visited.

But that was not gonna happen because soon the people around him there discovered about his peculiarity of not being from the same world and some forces of that world ended up being after him. He got scared that if they find his device it would put his daughter in danger as well as the now some what of revived Earth.

He made a deal with a guy named Igon on that planet, in turn for his daughters safety he would help Igon achieve his motives.

He knew he will not be able to return back to Earth after he goes to accomplish his end of the deal.

So in his last entry in the journal he wrote as if he knew someday Diana would read it. He apologized to her and also wrote about how he has left a letter with her aunt May that she can now read as she knows what happened.

His last words in the journal were:

'I love you a lot my sweet sweet daughter, and I wish i could be there for you and never leave you. But i have to go to protect you. Never think I abandoned you, I am very sorry that I had to go. There is a gift I left for you with your Aunt May that she is supposed to give you when you turned 29 years old, but if you have read the journal before that you can read the letter I left with her. Goodbye Diana, I will try to come back to you someday if possible and I do miss you a lot, already, but its time and I have to go now.

Take care

Love, your Dad'

Diana was crying a lot at this point as she read the last entry of the journal. To say she was devastated would be an understatement.

Tears flowed out of her eyes one after the other without stopping, as she sobbed with hiccups in between. Her face had turned red as her vision blurred, she felt a wave of dizziness hit her as the room spun around in her vision and then it was black.

Pixel was present in the room and saw it all unfold as to how Diana cried, then read the journal, then cried again and then blacked out. Pixel understood due to her Artificial Intelligence that this is the case of emergency and Diana had stored her Aunt May's number as the emergency contact in her database along with other emergency numbers like that of fire brigade in case of fire and 911 in case of assault or medical emergency.

Though Pixel knew that this was also a medical emergency but she also knew that Aunt May is a reputed doctor of the city and very capable of treating Diana and so Pixel decided to call Aunt May over 911.

Pixel calmly introduced herself as Diana's assistant and summarized what had happened in brief and told Aunt May to come over. The proceeded to give Diana first aid.

Aunt May being worried for Diana rushed to her childhood home as soon as possible. Once she reached found Diana sitting on the couch holding a cup of warm tea in her hands sipping on it slowly and sighed in relief as Aunt May went ahead and checked her pulse and examined her to make sure she didn't have any injury. After Aunt May was assured that Diana was alright Aunt May went ahead and asked her

"What happened Diana?" Aunt may had guessed what might have happened after seeing the journal on the table but she wanted to make sure if Diana had read it or has yet to read.

"I know Aunt May, what happened back then" Diana said as she turned to look at her aunt and hold her hands. "I read the journal dad left behind for me to find"

Aunt May's eyes watered as one tear slipped out of her eye and fell. Aunt May cried silently as she saw Diana's state. The sadness in her voice with a hint of hope and a little bit of happiness to know that maybe her father is still alive.

"That letter your Dad left for you, the gift is in this home as well. I never kept it with me or on me, for I was worried you will not get it if something happened to me" Aunt May said as she got up and pulled on Diana's hand that she was holding lightly, signaling her to get up and follow her.

Aunt May took Diana to the play room where Diana used to play as a kid.
