Aunt May brought Diana to the playroom where Diana used to play all day as a kid. The room was still the same as it was years ago with nothing changed.
After Her mother's death Diana would come to the room very rarely and then stopped altogether after her dad left to never return.
Diana had flashback of parts of memory from her childhood and the time she spent in the room.
The room held a lot of value to Diana because it was in this room that she had spent time with her mother playing tea party before her mom left for ISS.
The wave of nostalgia hit Diana again as she felt like crying. She bit her lip and clenched her hand around the door handle holding it in a death grip, turning her knuckles white.
Aunt May entered the room and went to the sit by window and opened the drawer below it. She pulled out an envelope and a packet with it.
Aunt May turned to look at Diana and nodded at her, reassuring her that it will be alright.
Diana took a step forward and slowly entered the room as she looked at the envelope and packet in her aunt's hands, a shiver ran through her spine while she trembled.
Sadness gripped Diana's mind as she thought on how oblivious to the truth she was all this time while her father was risking his life somewhere out there in the vast multi universe in order to protect her.
Diana was in a conflicted state of mind and right now she is more mad at herself for resenting her father and being mad at him for leaving her all these years.
Finally Diana sat on the sit by window of the room
and reached out to take the envelope from her aunt first. She tore open the envelop from one end and removed the bundle of papers from inside. The last letter written by her father to her.
It read:
'My Dearest Daughter Diana,
If you are reading this letter it means that either you are now 29 years of age or have found the journal before that.
I hope you have been living well and are happy with your life. I love you a lot my precious daughter. I don't know if I will ever be able to come back to you and see you again, talk to you or hug you.
After your Mother's death you had changed a lot and some of it was a good changed but some of it wasn't. You had started to bottle up your feelings and won't share your emotions with me like you used to. You matured very fast for your age then.
I just wanted to give you some happy times so that you can be the kid you were meant to be again for some time at least.
But in the process of doing so I messed up. I messed up big time. And the bad guys are after me because they want to know about the device I made that helped me travel across universe.
If they ever find out about it then its bad news for you and our planet. So I decided to leave and go to work for a man who can ensure your safety in return.
Mind you Diana he is not a bad man, so do not mistake him for one if you ever come across him. I accepted to help him and in return he is helping me assuring your safety.
As for the gift I left for you is a completely planned and paid trip to the various "safe" planets in the multi dimension universe with first being a chance to visit me to where I am right now.
I assure you all the arrangements would have been made for you once you come here. The book in the package contains all the details you need to know to visit the various planets and also how to use the device, which is in the basement lab at the moment.
The device is locked and can only be unlocked by you as only you know the password to its activation other than me. I hope you will come to meet me some day as I will be waiting for that day to see you once again.
Take your time studying the book, there is no rush for you to come here.
I love you my dear daughter, always and forever. Never forget that.
Love,
Your Mighty strong Dad.'
Diana chuckled as she read the ending of the letter, shaking her head with a smile on her face as she wiped her tears and then turned to look at her aunt.
Her aunt was sitting there patiently waiting for Diana to finish reading the letter observing her expressions as she read on. She was satisfied to see Diana smile finally.
"Lets go to living room and talk shall we?" Aunt May asked Diana.
Diana nodded as she got up to follow her aunt to living room.
"So what are you gonna do now?" Aunt May asked Diana
"Of course I want to go and meet my father."
"Understandable, I suggest you make sure to make all the preparations before leaving. I will help you with anything you need" She assured Diana
"Thank you Aunt May" Diana said as she hugged her aunt
"You know its still gonna be dangerous to go there alone"
"I am planning to take Pixel with me, I have made her good enough to be able to protect me if needed. And I will also add the extra data from the book to her Database so she is more prepared and aware." Diana reassured her aunt
"When you go there make sure to give your father my love and okay"
"Yes Aunt May"
"And tell him we will wait for him to come back so he should try and come back as soon as possible, It's high time he returns and finishes his responsibilities here"
Diana chuckled "You are right aunt May, I will tell him to come back and take his responsibilities"
The aunt and niece spent some time in each other's embrace, before letting go.
"Diana remember one more thing, please make sure you come back safe, no matter what. You are the only family I have left here after all"
Diana looked at her aunt and nodded.
Diana had lost all hope of ever meeting her dad again after he had disappeared out of her life when she was 12. She thought the worst had happened to him and that he was no more.
But now that she had read the journal and letter and knew that he was still alive and waiting for her and that she can meet him again. She was happy. Genuinely very happy.
Diana went on to order food for herself as she made herself comfortable on the couch to open the book and read about what she should do to be able to go meet her dad.
'I am coming to meet you dad, very soon' she thought as she lost herself in reading the details to make preparations.
