The dream shattered by the sound of violent roaring and screeching. The thoughts which had been racing my head froze. The things out there were terrifying. Each and every cry they created shook my very bones.
I felt fear.
The curiosity within me pushed me forward... I knew I couldn't hide forever but I knew I was anything but powerful enough against their might. I peered out the cave, only managing to bring myself to the very edge.
Until I saw them.
This was no place for humanity.
Dozens of ferocious creatures began wildly attack each other.
Their figures monstrous abominations. Claws, limbs and mouths jotted around their abhorrent bodies. Each of their mouths creating a cacophony of sounds.
Life here should not exist.
I just had to survive...
Slowly I retreated from the cave entrance and back into the safety of the depths, where these monsters couldn't find me...
--=o-o=--
The horrendous sounds echoed within the cave, yet after some struggling, I manage to lull myself to sleep. The safety of my... cave helped me pass the border between my consciousness and subconscious.
I awoke to the darkness of the night fading as the morning light scattered along the glossy walls dimly lighting the cave.
The lights of dawn roused me from the depths of the cave, only to find that as I exited, the monstrous abominations were still there...
Scrambling my way back into the cave. Peering towards the goblin village, nothing remained. The corpses had disappeared, only the faint stane of blood marked where the village once stood. The huts and structures which once littered the village had been consumed by the things.
I would have to wait until these creatures left the valley before I could leave the safety of my cave.
--=o-o=--
I bid my time by contemplating what the monster within me had said.
How could we become one?
How could I become one...
What does that even mean?
My thoughts ran wild, yet time slowly ticked past.
Soon, the hunger, the lust to devour returned. Yet, for once, we shared the same idea.
Either we waited in hunger, or we died by the creatures lurking in the valley.
--=o-o=--
The hours rolled by yet, the hunger only grew. The desire for flesh began to eat away at my consciousness.
The thought of the taste of soft, tender, delicious... no, NO! NO!!!
Yet, the desire only grew...
To keep myself sane, I began to pace back and forth within the cave.
My body was craving flesh, it needed flesh.
To my surprise, my body began to drool at the thought of the chewy goblin flesh.
To my chagrin, every time I approached the edge of the cave, the sound of the monsters would temporarily sedate my desire as the monster within me recognized the danger.
I could feel my body begin to cry in pain...
It was slowly becoming uncontrollable...
--=o-o=--
Clinging onto my the last of my rational thoughts, I needed to get out. I needed food.
To my joy, the cacophony of noise the horrendous monsters created slowly faded away.
I was free.
It was free...
