"Technically, I was supposed to train you guys. If things went smoothly back then I would be your superior," Felix said with a small smirk on his face and glared at me for me to only meet it with a forced smile and fake polite laughter.
"Are you not already my superior, captain?" I lifted my tone to be lighter and made sure I had a straight posture.
"Well, that was fast... there's really no need for you to speak so politely to me alone. I'm merely a peasant that was just born lucky," A peasant? Like a commoner? And somehow he's still a knight captain?
I thought only nobles would get high ranking positions. This world is so confusing...
He didn't continue to speak so silence filled the halls for a few seconds. This is... awkward... uhh...
"And I am merely a loud brat that was lucky to be born," I smiled breaking the silence.
"With the chills I received from your entry into the palace, I highly doubt you do not have talent." Felix opened the balcony's door, the cold wind slipping into the halls as he walked into the snow.
"Pure effort my friend, through hell and back." Literally.
I lingered inside the halls stepping back, I think... I'll just wait inside... I already get enough random chill-
At the very corner of my eyes, I saw a familiar hair orange hairstyle turning the corner. Without hesitation, I leapt out the balcony into the snowing sky. Going over even the hanging platform. The cold air engulfing my entire body in an instant.
I looked down, my eyes widened, finding too many soldiers in one area just casually talking.
What the hell... I can't fall into that! That arrogant excuse for a noble would find me again! Oh and of course I'll have to do the escape all over again.
I kicked air to narrow the gap between the fence my helpless body in the air. Reaching out my hand to grab onto the stone fencing, I was inches away. I jumped a little bit too far. Shoot...
Really? I might go back there again? I'll have to come all the way back here again?
It'd be...
Too much of a pain. Hell no!
I swiped up the menu, something I haven't seen in months, and went to the settings as fast as I could.
As my movement's acceleration reach their limits, the world seemed to slow down. The snow that was gliding down, twisting and twirling, slowed down to a crawl.
I scrolled down my list of skills to switch forge from hand activation to feet activation. Instantly I whispered the activation code, "Forge". Don't think this world uses is real-life physics, I'm betting a lot of future torment and time on this stupid movie trick.
Solid thick metal plate formed under my shoes as I bent down, preparing to jump. Hope I won't overdo it... actually... hope I can do it at all.
I pushed against the plate to jump, to my surprise or... all according to my plan, it actually worked. Hovering over Felix and held onto the floor underneath the fence with one hand and my index finger over my mouth with killing glare to shut reddy up about me as the plate landed into the ground with a loud bang.
"What the hell?!" A soldier from below shouted looking up. Luckily, I'm pretty sure I can't be seen from down there with the roof blocking... I can't even see them myself.
"What are you still doing inside the southern wing?" Felix looked down.
"C-Captain! We a-apologize sir! We'll be going immediately," The group scattered away like ants.
"And that's how you should've reacted," He muttered, making sure it was loud enough for me to hear.
"Gee, wonder who told me I didn't have to be polite to them, hypocrite" I swang my arms up onto the platform before slipping back down when I heard a familiar voice.
"Captain Felix," The incessant voice of Damon. He's the reason I panicked and leapt into the snow... what is he even doing here?
"Hero Damon," Felix said, I was right... it is him...
Why is he here?
If it's just him I think I can reveal myself... "Wh-"
"Lord Grail," Felix continued as the cracks on the balcony's floor slowly widened from my grip.
That bastar-
