So...
Shin... don't think you can get your way, having a harem of cute fantasy elves, fairies and 1000-year-old lolis that people claim to be legal, you better be prepared for some intervention, "Prepare for trouble,"
"And make it double," Amber smirked, both of us raised our hands to do a high five like it was planned.
"Always wanted to do that!" We shouted simultaneously, forgetting why we were even there.
"U-Uhh... I swear... this isn't what it looks like," Shin paused, seeing us.
"Oh, I know exactly what it looks like" Amber sneered mockingly.
"W-What do y-you m-mean?" I didn't know it was possible, as he said that Shin's face somehow became even redder.
"You accidentally tripped and it was just a coincidence that you landed on her." She said it in a monotone voice, it didn't sound sarcastic, but from the words she said, it sure sounds sarcastic.
"We believe you wholeheartedly," I played along with the vague monotone.
"I... can't tell if that's sarcasm or not... either way, get off of me," Mia pushed Shin away.
"Right! Sorry about that Mia, I really didn't mean to trip and make both of us fall" Shin bowed down 90 degrees as an apology.
Pretty sure normally the most is 45... but what do I know, I'm just some weeb without enough of a life.
"Yeah... it's cool, I-I overreacted too. I don't even know what Baka means," Mia cut down the tension to Amber's dismay.
So she's saying it without knowing it. The question is how do we fix it. He's already found his first love interest so we have to work it out from there.
Also... Amber didn't come here to disrupt the harem trope I hate so much, she came here to watch it all go to hell!
I looked at Amber to see she was staring at me with a mischievous gaze.
I was right!
Amber walked over to Mia who was sitting awkwardly away from Shin, "It means fool, Baka means fool or idiot. Just say it in English next time. It's weird hearing Japanese from you."
"And YOU" I glared at Shin, "Come with us," I gestured for Shin to come over.
Shutting the door, Amber left Mia alone in the room telling her something along the lines of, "Gotta borrow Shin real quick,"
"What are you guys doing?" The ignorant fool looked extremely confused as Amber threw me and him back into the common room.
"Hiroto I believe in you, help this poor man," She faked concern while walking out of the room.
"Hey! HEY! I ain't doing this alone. If I have to teach him you have to too!" I dragged her back. Grabbing her turtleneck shirt, pulling the part that covered her neck down to reveal a scar that ran up to her face. I don't know how long the scar really is... she covered it with her mask.
"F-Fine... First the balance" She pulled her turtleneck back up, even looking... afraid for some reason and made her messy red hair cover even more of her skin.
She actually agreed with me for once in her life. This is new... wonder where it came from. Wonder where the scar came from too...
"Why? My balance is fine guys don't worry" Shin smiled shounen style.
I'll ignore that scar for now... but I'll have to figure out what happened soon and who the hell did it.
Right! Back to the situation at hand, after he said that I lightly poked him towards Amber and then? Well, he fell of course.
Amber caught him, but his weight somehow managed to push on making them almost ki-
"Balance," Immediately I pushed Shin away. His body smashed into the wall on the other side of the room.
"How the hell did I just push him that far?!" I looked at her and looked at Shin and looked back at her.
Gods... she looks like she's about to kill someone...
"Sorry I really didn't mean t-"
"I know! Why would I waste my breath being mad at you? The only thing that infuriates me is that I fell too." Amber continuously smacked her head to the walls, cracking the wall in the process and yet she remained unscathed.
He's clueless, every moment he's getting more and more stupid. He has no idea how oblivious he is. If he ever becomes Jesus-kun, Kiroto, I swear I'll try to kill him myself.
"So quick-witted" Shin mocked our reply with sarcasm.
"Alas, I admit it," We both said with a virtuous smile on our faces.
"Your the perfect moving target for a harem so we're making the best decisions for you to make sure that you WILL NEVER touch any of our precious classmates" Amber circled him, poking him randomly to test his balance.
"I can make my own judgements," Shin stood tall, tense and unwavering.
"If we let you do that... that would lead to a disaster!" Amber exaggerated every word she spoke.
"Bu-"
"Don't argue with her, it's impossible to win. I talk from experience. Trust me" With that both me and Shin sighed.
He stood still not saying anything. He still trusts me. You know ever since I came here I've also become more irrational. I think Amber noticed this too. I wish I could tell you what was happening in her brain.
"Let's go... we need to ask everyone about the party Hiroto"
"Kay"
We then rearrange the parties, since Amber has a lot of impact on decisions and with her manipulative nature, we got everyone to agree with us without saying too much.
"Yo lovebirds! When's the ceremony?" Misa smirked.
"Yeah, no. I have standards thank you very much," Both of us said at the exact same time
"I rest my case, you can even say stuff at the same time," Misa said with a cocky smile and one eyebrow up
"Like hell, they'd go well together!" Kyle shouted from the other side of the hallway.
"We all know you have a bone to pick with Hiroto so your opinion doesn't really matter, Kyle," Misa raised her hand for a small red transmutation circle to appear on her hands and Kyle's mouth. With a simple clench of the fist, Kyle's mouth shut and he was unable to speak any comprehensible words.
"How'd you piss him off Hiroto?" Amber tilted her head towards me.
"You know it's your fault right?" I whispered.
"What? Why?" Amber asked with a genuinely confused look.
Although I say she's manipulative, she's not doing any of it consciously. Well, she's not doing most of it consciously anyway. She understands how most emotions work at their core and build from it, but there's one main emotion I know she can't comprehend. Love.
"Never mind..."
Suddenly, Kyle moved out of Misa's spell range and exploded, "Why don't we tell him what's really going on?"
What do you mean? Is there something they're not telling me? "What are you talking about?" I asked.
"Perhaps, it is time," Fay appeared in the corner all of a sudden. Wait... maybe she was always there. I just didn't notice her since she hasn't said anything at all until now.
Seems like I'm not the only one though, Amber looked as surprised as me that Fay was even there, but her surprise quickly twisted into a face of guilt and pity.
What...
Amber's not the type to feel guilty... what's going on? Why does it seem like so many things have changed in a single day?
"Hiroto..." Amber muttered quietly, uncharacteristically. As she struggles to make eye contact she spoke, "It's been 6 months since we last saw you... the cave. It distorts the perception of time in weird ways..."
As her explanation continued on, the clean brick walls of the room slowly faded into an aged version of the room, dirty and neglected.
I realized it was awfully quiet before, but now it makes sense. Are we're the only ones left? Only Amber, Shin, me, Misa, Mia, Damon, Kyle and Fay as far I've seen.
"Where are the others?!" I asked, although deep down... I knew the answer.
"They... just never returned,"
