Chereads / Princess of the Twelve Magics / Chapter 9 - Tactics

Chapter 9 - Tactics

"Marc, it appears as if you used a ring. Light and nonchalant." He went around examining everyone's device. "Amary, you chose a necklace. Looks pretty, but it also reads your stats."

"If you are done, we need to start training." Helia was getting impatient. He didn't respond. "You will not only work on solo missions, but as a group. Vangard will be Iris and Filia; support, Amary; and rearguard, Marc."

The four of them got into place. The targets they used for practice moved forward, albeit slowly. They all started firing at once. The principal shouted, "You're dead! Marc, look behind you." There was a target behind them, and no one noticed. "Marc, you are essentially the look out. You watch for attacks from the back. Amary, your job is support. You use AOE effects to the enemies and allies...Again!" They were working together, though dysfunctionally.

Amary added de-buffs to the enemies and healed her allies. Marc attacked the ones from behind, and the Vanguard destroyed the enemies in the front. They lasted at least five minuetes this time.

They trained for nearly an hour. They were completely worn out. "Great job. As the saying goes 'AD ASTRA PER ASPERA' (to the stars through difficulties). Check your status."

The screen displayed the two options. The system was similar to the early digital computers, but with an AI. "Principal, what are the limits of the AI?"

The others all looked at her with blank stares. "What do you mean, AI?"

"The system that gives a response?"

"The Jewels don't have a system. They only have basic circuitry for basic tasks."

"Look. It's asking for a response"

The principal looked at the bracelet and said with a sigh, "The Jewels evolve with the user. The more mana one has, the more tasks it can do; for example, finding objects or remembering a message. It doesn't have the ability to give responses. It's probably your magic. Try to find out what it can do, but be careful."

The bracelet changed displays.

She wanted to throw her bracelet into a volcano for that joke. The others were all looking in awe at the SAS. Filia understood the name.

Train for 47 hours or spar with Iris for 3 hours.

Oh, I can read your mind as well

--------------------------------------------------

"Iris, will you spar with me?"

"Sure. Marc and Amary, why don't you spar as well?"

With that the four got into their 1v1 areas.
