"Was that guy supposed to be one of the strong ones?" I yawned.
"Cause if that's the case, this is gonna get really boring."
"He's actually the strongest." Principle Vaughn says.
"Among the normal students that is."
"What's that supposed to mean?"
Lucille asks.
"In this school strength is everything, it cements your place in the hierarchy, the stronger you are, the better you live."
He says.
"But there exists a gap in the hierarchy, it's always been there, this school was built on its very Principle. That gap is the sacred four, ever since the school was established descendants of the pillars have attended and there were always four, and these four would always be monstrously powerful geniuses. The classes had no choice but to be separated from each other, the normal students would get enslaved, form clans with each of the four as heads and start a turf war, or even lose their very will to fight."
"So basically you're telling me that if the strongest normal person is too weak to fight me then the monster ones would be more fun." I finish.
"You catch on fast kid." He laughs.
As he shows us around the rest of the academy you could literally see tension in the air, students were going out of their way to avoid me, and nobody would even make eye contact with me, not that I minded those things, the thing that got annoying was the whispering. No matter where we went the room would quiet down and then people would start whispering.
"-The cafeteria's this way, and down the hall from there are training rooms." Principle Vaughn drones on. "And even though you are both listed as students it won't be mandatory for either one of you to go to class, you may do as you please but I ask that you not bully the normal students."
"Oh, you don't have to worry about that." I assure him.
"My eyes are only on your little monsters." I say as Lucille and I walk down the hall.
"Before you go, I would like to ask, what were those techniques that you used before? He asked seriously.
"Techniques?" I ask confused.
"Yes, the body strengthening and movement techniques." he elaborated.
"I'd never seen anything like that before. To be able to use techniques that are that powerful would mean you possess a massive amount of Spiritual energy, yet I sensed nothing when you moved or even when you attacked." He said.
"Just what kind of techniques are they?" He asks.
I just chuckled and kept walking.
Lucille stopped and explained to him.
"There was no movement technique, body strengthening, or spiritual power." she said calmly.
"That was just good old fashioned physical strength."
Principal Vaughn stopped dead in his tracks and watched Malcom and Lucille walk away, it wasn't until they were out of eyesight that he finally moved and he instantly broke out in a cold sweat.
"That kid's a monster." His voice trembled slightly.
After he calmed down he did a few simulated matches in his head.
"I wonder if those four will finally be satisfied after fighting an opponent of this caliber." He laughs.
Lucille and I head to the cafeteria but as soon as I open the doors I immediately regret it. Everyone in the cafeteria stopped moving, it was so quiet you could hear a pin drop, then the whispering started.
"Hey Lucille" I say
"Yes Malcom?"
"Do you also want to go to the training room?" I ask.
"Yes the fuck I do." She says.
We head down the hall that leads to the training rooms and as we get closer we hear a voice.
"Fuck off Leon," someone said.
"Your not King anymore you can't just do whatever you want." a voice yelled defiantly.
I can clearly sense four people around the corner and sure enough, one of them is Leon.
I heard a loud thud, a noise which I can only assume was the result of someone getting hit.
"Do you really think that just because I lost to that asshole, that you're strong enough to talk back to me?" Leon spat.
"I'll defeat him soon enough,"
He brags.
"But you, you're too weak."
"You know it's funny, cause I remember saying those exact same words to you not too long ago." I cut in.
Leon's face pales slightly as I approach him while the two goons he brought with him hide in the corner. Leon swallows the fear in his heart and regains his composure.
"You may have beaten me." he says. His voice full of rage.
"But even with that level of strength you are still nothing in the eyes of those monsters." He warns.
"You know I've heard nothing but good things about these guys. You all got me really excited to meet them." I say jokingly.
"You've got three months" Leon sneers.
"In three months they'll return from training and you'll be put in your place." He laughs.
"You do realize that it also means I have three whole months to beat the living shit out of you whenever I feel like it right?" I say bluntly.
After hearing this Leon's face pales slightly once more before he regains his composure.
" I swear to you." He says. His eyes burning fiercely.
" In three months, I'll be more than strong enough to completely destroy you."
He boasts confidently.
"Then I after I defeat you, I'll beat the four and stand atop this school as the strongest."
"I love the confidence kid, I really do." I say sarcastically.
" But try not to bite off more than you can chew." I pat his shoulder lightly as I warn him.
Lucille and I walk past him as we enter the training room. It's a large room, about the size of a four-bedroom house with only a small window in the door, we get closer to the center and a pedestal emerges from the floor, the only thing on it is a small dial.
" I wonder what this does?" I say as I turn the dial to the right and Lucille immediately falls to the floor as if something heavy landed on her.
"TURN IT OFF, TURN IT OFF, TURN IT OFF!!" She yells.
"What the fuck was that?" I ask, completely confused.
"You didn't feel that?" she asks as she struggles to get up.
"Feel what?"
"Well apparently, this room works like a gravity chamber." she explains.
" The more you turn the dial the higher the gravity increases."
"Well, that sounds like fun." I say excitedly.
"You may want to step out for this." I warn her.
After Lucile leaves the room I once again turn the dial, but I still feel nothing, I turn it up higher, nothing, I turn it all the way up and I am genuinely pissed the fuck off. Cause either Lucille is screwing with me or I'm too fucking strong for this damn thing to affect me. Feeling dejected I turn it off and Lucille comes back in.
"Ok, so just how fucking strong is your body?" she asks.
"You barely turned the dial and I felt like I was gonna be flattened."
"Blame my father." I say with a smile.
" I remember he once made me wear weighted training clothes every day" I laugh as I recall the memory.
"And whenever I got too accustomed to the weight he would add fifty pounds.
"That's all?" Lucille asked. A look of utter confusion on her face.
"That doesn't explain why your so strong, I mean how long did that even last?"
"Every few weeks for seventeen years" I say causally.
"You know that kinda borders on child abuse right?" Lucille asked jokingly.
"I guess it did." I laugh sadly.
"Well enough of this sad shit." I say suddenly startling Lucille.
"There's got to be something else this room has got to offer."
I close my eyes and reach out with my consciousness.
"Hey, Lucille." I call out to her.
"Can you do me a favor and turn the dial to a setting you're comfortable with?" I ask
"Uhh, sure but why?" she asks as she moves towards the dial.
"I can see the runes used to create this room, but the only way I'll understand how they work is if they're activated." I explain.
"Cool" she says.
As she turns the dial the runes slowly glow and I study them briefly before open my eyes.
"Seems like this wasn't a total waste after all." I say completely satisfied.
"Why? What'd you discover?" Lucille asks interested.
"When I first looked I was confused because the runes are written not only on the walls but on the floor and ceiling as well, that's why I had you activate it." I explain as I pace back and forth.
" and now that they're active I've figured it out,the way these runes work is that they gather the surrounding Spiritual energy and compress it all at once basically increasing the gravity of a confined space." I explain as I pace back and forth.
"I get it now," Lucille said.
"But what what are you gonna do with this information now that you have it?" she asks.
" I want to do a few experiments." I answer.
"Shit, I'm gonna end up being a guinea pig aren't I?" she asks nervously.
"What? No of course not." I assure her.
"I am."
