Since that day of the fight many years have swept by. And by now it's already 1959.
Lot of activity has passed during these long years. During this time Ip Man's eldest son Zhun returned to Foshan to study.
So these days, their home was only occupied by his younger son Ip Ching and his wife Cheung Wing-Sing.
Besides Ip Man's son growing up so speedily in the blink of an eye, Tony's little sister Yue Er also grew to adulthood and married a man she dearly loves.
During the day of the wedding Tony and his elder sister Zhi Yan both have tears in their eyes from happiness.
It was strange for all of this to happen so soon, he knew that someday it would happen yet it was still unexpectant when the day arrived to say goodbye.
Now that his younger sister Yue Er has left to live with her husband, Tony feels the dinner table is a little less dynamic than before.
After moving away from their home Tony rarely gets to see her face these years.
Besides these news, Master Ip Man has more earlier adopted Bruce Lee as his student.
A tall young man with comb back short hair wearing a pale dark turtleneck sweater walked to an half open old blue door.
Peeking inside he sees Master Ip Man taking care of his potted plants with leisure.
While opening the door and walking closer inside he sees another familiar person seated on one of the wooden chairs against the windows.
This man was sitting there with a relaxed feet posture as he sips tea through a clay cup.
This is Tony wearing a black long sleeved traditional chinese shirt.
Through the clothing he's almost like a mountain of muscles from top to bottom.
Despite these many years that Bruce has seen Tony he hasn't found the slightest change in his familiar complexion.
Always young as he was many years ago.
The walls of Ip Man's room were painted white, but you can see that the paint is paling revealing the black surface underneath.
The ground was a chessboard mix of blue and white tiles.
While the whole right side were rows of windows that shone a morning light into the room.
In this quiet room as Bruce walks closer he could hear the chirping of the birds outside the open windows.
Bruce calls out with palm over fist kung-fu greeting, "Master Ip! Senior Liang!"
Ip Man turned and smiled, "Morning! So early Xiao Long(Chinese name of Bruce Lee)?"
"What's new today Xiao Long?" Tony asks while continuing drinking his tea in perfect calmness.
Each day Bruce would come in the morning and discuss new philosophies or Wing Chun techniques he was studying into.
"Senior Liang you came at the right time," Bruce hurries to where Tony is sitting, "I want to show you my one-inch punch. It's especially strong now!"
He was boasting as he mentions flicking his nose with his thumb in pride of this new comprehension.
"Okay," Tony puts down the cup he was drinking from and standing up from his seat.
"Try it on me Xiao Long," Tony said to Bruce calmly after standing up.
"Are you sure you don't want to stand somewhere else Senior Liang," Bruce asks in concern that he might hurt his senior.
"I tell you to hit, so hit!" Tony tells him.
"Then I'm really going to hit," Bruce gulps down pulling his fist to Tony's chest an inch away in practice.
Punching his fist into the middle of Tony's chest produced a thud sound as it connected.
Ip Man also turns around his head to see how Bruce's punching is developing so far.
But his expression wasn't too surprising as he sees that it didn't produce any effect on Tony.
The room was in an awkward silence as Bruce still has his punch connected to Tony's chest.
"I fear not the man who has practiced 10,000 kicks once. But I fear the man who has practiced one kick 10,000 times," Tony stealed Bruce Lee's famous quote.
Bruce Lee was surprised at what Tony just said to him, the way the words so seemingly make a lot of sense to his martial arts philosophy.
Even Ip Man who was sitting now in the chair listening from the side as he watches the duo nods his head in appreciation at the wise saying.
"Watch closely Xiao Long. I'm going to show you the One-Finger Hit," Tony says as he focuses one figner connecting to Bruce's chest. "Don't punch the target, punch through the target."
There was a sharp woosh sound from Tony's movement as he connected his whole body kinetic and Qi energy into that single attack.
Bruce feels like all the air in his lung was forced out by that single unexpected finger hit.
All the energy in his body seemingly drained away in this single moment as he can sense his body flying through the air before landing with a loud impact on the tiled floor.
Bruce was on the floor on his back, he tried to get up but he feels like there's no more strength left in him.
Only in a while did he manage to regain some strength as he struggled on his knees to stand back up again.
He was taking in deep breaths of fresh air as he asked, "Senior Liang how did you do that?"
"If you always put limits on everything you do, it will spread into your life," he changed a bit of Bruce's future saying. "There are no limits. There are only plateaus, and you must not stay there, you must go beyond them."
Bruce Lee's eyes were beaming with idolizing lights as he heard his 'senior's' wise saying.
Taking out a small notepad from his back pocket and scribbling down what he hears religiously.
"Thank you for your teaching Senior Liang," saids Bruce. Bowing deeply in respect before leaving the room.
"I still remember how he says he was going to be the "greatest disciple"," Tony smiles as he looks to the door, "But one day, he'll surely be a remarkable martial artist."
