Alisha was really annoyed after seeing the cheque. She had not at all helped for money and her self respect didn't allow her to take a blank cheque at the least, especially after she had already taken so many clothes, it didn't feel right to her.
"If there is nothing else, I shall take my leave." Alisha turned around to walk towards the door.
"Wait." Siddharth stopped her and got up from his seat. He went closer to her and took her slender arm in his big palm to take a closer look.
"What are you doing?" She was quite surprised by this reaction and tried to pull her hand back to which he immediately let her go.
"You are injured, let's get your wound treated at least. Please wait here." He turned around and went to his desk to pick up his cell phone and call Richard. "Check on the men how they brought Alisha here. And also, she has some injuries on her limbs, send in a nurse to tend it."
After he hung up, he turned to Alisha again who was still standing. "A nurse is coming to attend to your injuries, please sit here."
Alisha didn't argue this time and obediently went back to where she was seated previously.
While the nurse was coming, Alisha decided to quench her curiosity. "Do they also provide suits to live here?"
Siddharth looked at her and shook his head. "No, it was arranged for me."
'Filthy rich guy!' Alisha thought to herself. Who wouldn't think so, this man got this suit prepared only to live here for two to three days after all.
Soon a nurse knocked on the door and after Siddharth called her to come in, she entered. Alisha was injured on her arm and had scrapped one of her knees. Siddharth excused himself from the room while the nurse tended to her wounds.
He went to the living room outside and sat down to give Richard another call. "What did you find out?"
"Boss, they blackmailed her to come here and even punctured her scooty by shooting at it. It has become dirty, not that it was in a very good state, to begin with. As for her wounds, she got the injuries while they tried to bring her here. She had gotten scared and lost balance to scrape her knee and elbow."
"Buy her an exact same model, but make it look old and transfer all her belongings from the old one to the new one" He ordered Richard and hung up.
He had just hung up when he heard Alisha's squeals from inside. "Ah, do it slowly!... Mumma...It's burning!"
He shook his head at her reactions. 'was she really going to be twenty-one?'
After a few minutes, the voice quietened and the door clicked open and Alisha came out with a bandage draped on her forearm. she was blowing on her wrist where the nurse had applied some ointment for the scratch.
She looked at Siddharth who was sitting outside and didn't know what to say. When his eyes met her gaze, she just tucked the strands of her hair behind her ears awkwardly as she fumbled for words to say as to break the awkward silence.
"Alisha, I am sorry for offering you the cheque." Siddharth kept his phone on the coffee table in front of him and got up. "But I don't like owing gratitude to someone so instead of the cheque, please take it."
Alisha looked at his hand to see a black business card between his thumb and index finger On the matte black, the name 'Siddhart Shroff' was printed in bold golden font. Below the name was his details that included a phone number which she guessed was his. "This is my personal card. If you ever need any help, you can call me. I will make sure to help you for sure."
"Like you are going to remember me." She chuckled while taking the card and sliding it in her jeans' pocket.
"You can try me."
While she was ready to leave, Richard came to the room and handed a set of keys to Alisha. "Miss Alisha we are sorry for the damage to your scooty. We got it repaired for you. Here are the keys." He was smart enough to understand that she was not to be told that the scooty was a new one.
Alisha simply took the keys without feeling any difference between her older one and the new one. "I wish a speedy recovery to your brother."
"Thank you."
Alisha then took her leave and without any goons following after her this time, she went to the parking lot. She looked at her dear scooty and patted its seat. "You look so good now after you have been cleaned up. You shine like a new one my baby."
She pulled out the card from her pocket and placed it in her bag that was in the helmet space, picked her helmet that was hanging on the handle, wore it and drove away.
