This time Alisha had no answer left to come back with. This incredibly handsome guy in front of her who got dimples when he smiled was making her lose all reasoning.
"Ahem" she cleared her throat before faking an expression of anger on her face. "Don't try to change the topic now. You have already wasted enough of my time. Why did you call me here?"
The man stood up from his chair and came to stand against the side of the desk that faced Alisha with his arms crossed against his chest. "First, Let me introduce myse-"
"Wait, shouldn't you be lying on some bed and resting? You were shot by a bullet in your shoulder, how come you recovered so fast?"
With the mention of the bullet, the smile disappeared from his breathtaking face and his jaws clenched. "It was not me who was shot. It was my younger brother, Vihaan."
"I see. How is he now?"
The man took a seat on the sofa that was next to the one on which Alisha sat. "He is fine. We are going back to London tonight."
"So why did you call me here?" Alisha asked cautiously. After experiencing twice the way his men acted, she wouldn't be surprised if he had called her here to pour out his anger, or even shoot her because according to her that must be their favorite timepass.
"Let me first introduce myself. I am Siddharth Shroff." He extended his hand to which Alisha responded by holding it in hers to be shaken firmly.
She felt that she had heard the name somewhere but couldn't exactly place her finger as to where.
"I called you here to thank you for all your help. If not for you, it's hard to say what would have happened to my brother."
"Well, then I must say your method of asking for help and expressing gratitude is quite commendable. One of it's kind actually." Alisha's smile that didn't reach her eyes showed that she was impressed but her sarcastic tone said otherwise.
If one didn't know well, they would surely think that she was actually complimenting him. But for Siddharth, it was rare for his sharp senses to miss such small details. "I am sorry for how you have been brought here both the times. The first time was a call of the circumstances and for this time it was my men's fault. I sincerely apologize."
Alisha looked at him and she saw that his gesture was quite sincere. "It's alright, but please teach your men some better ways to ask for help, and not make an invitation look like an abduction. They even punctured my scooty to bring me here."
Siddharth chuckled. "You have got quite a sharp thing inside your mouth, haven't you?"
"Can't be helped, you see."
Siddharth didn't mind her words and just smiled. And unbeknownst to him, his smile made her heart flutter again, washing away all her anger.
He then extended his hand to pass a white business-size envelope to her. "Please take it as a gesture of my apology and to express my gratitude. I hope you like this method better."Alisha took the envelope and opened it to find a cheque inside.
She pulled it out and it was a blank cheque signed by Siddharth. She placed the cheque back in the envelope and tossed it on the coffee table. Her expression turned a bit sour. "Mr. Shroff I didn't help your brother for money. He was injured and even if your man didn't point a gun at me, I would have still helped him, maybe even more willingly."
Alisha got up from the sofa next second. "A simple thank you from you would have sufficed and your men have anyway given me a bunch of clothes and I don't need anything else, not your money at the least."
Siddharth was quite surprised by this reaction. When his men had searched for the identity of the girl, they had also gone through her family background to only find out that her father was under a huge debt of ten million rupees and he thought that money would be the best way to say thanks to her. But this girl straight away rejected him. strange!
