As we approached the castle, I noticed how big this thing really was. It was massive, bigger then any building I have ever seen. Walls surrounded the castle, easily 40m tall. The wall seemed thicker, taller, and more well maintained then the walls of the kingdom.
Clearly they had a big priority of protecting the Officials of the kingdom rather than the peasants. It truly is a medieval world. The closer we got, the more I felt an aura that made me feel weary. Two auras really, each one of them where S-Rank. One was about twice as strong as me.
The whole walk was conducted in silence, no one spoke a word. They silently marched forward, with occasional glances towards me to make sure I'm behaving. The castle was quite majestic and the closer we got the more I realized, that this castle was quite unusual.
The guards stationed at the gate wore white and gold armor. Shimmering in the sunlight, I could tell that the armor was quite strong and expensive. Above, upon the castle walls, sat trebuchets and people in white and gold robes.
Seemingly searching for something far out in the distance. I assumed the people in robes were wizards or mages. Whatever you may call them, they had a lot of mana. I could see it, and the mana emanating from the castle was astonishing.
Not anywhere near as astonishing as the mana from the World Tree. However, that doesn't take away from the feeling of dread I feel when looking at such magnificent mana. Closing my eyes, I focused on looking for the source. Noticing that the mana seems to be radiating from the basement or dungeon, not quite sure. Either way, it's underneath the building itself.
The gate we approached was quite big and seemed to be made out of some sort of metal. A big burly man in armor reached his hand towards the gate and touched it. Immediately after, the gate started to lower and the guard removed his hand from the gate.
Walking into the wall, I immediately noticed a magnificent garden. It seemed as though there was every type of color imaginable within this garden. There were herbs and flowers galore, some very rare herbs and herbs that are needed for quite important or powerful potions.
My eyes quickly glanced over the rest of the garden, noticing the bright blue water that poured out of a fountain and into small man-made rivers. The water seemed to glow and sparkle when caught under sunlight, and overall the whole area made me speechless.
After walking for about another 5 minutes we arrived at the actual castle door. Behind the door I could feel a very alert aura, seemingly wary of something. The guards in front of the door opened it up and I was pushed through the door.
My escorts stayed outside as I was ushered forward by two other guards. The main hall that I had walked into was quite magnificent, pillars made of marble, a red carpet across the floor, stopping right before a magnificent throne. The throne was adorned with jewels of all kinds and looked immeasurably valuable.
'What a waste of money' I thought. Glaring at the throne, not realizing that there was someone sitting on it.
I was suddenly forced down to my knees, I put no effort into resisting. I need to not upset some that is double my strength. I put my head down looking at the floor.
"Raise your head." the man on the throne commanded. I immediately rose my head and looked at the man sitting in front of me. I quickly used {Inspect} on him to find out his stats, I was not surprised. He was about double my strength, in almost every aspect.
The man before me was none other than the Elf King, Luvon Larmaer. I kept my mouth shut, realizing that this was a king before me, I had no right to speak out of line. Otherwise, this could turn bloody, and painful. I quickly checked the stats of everyone else in the room.
"For someone who defeated a Demon Orc King, you do not seem very strong." Luvon looked at me. It was as though his eyes were veering into my soul. Digging around, looking for something important. Eventually, it suddenly stopped.
"I see nothing. Interesting. Quite a peculiar human." Luvon looked stumped. He was thinking so hard, I swear I could hear his gears turning and see smoke coming out of his head. "No, It doesn't matter. Human, explain why you defeated the Demon Orc King." Luvon commanded.
"I was bored." I deadpanned, "I also like fighting strong things." After stating that, Luvon said nothing. He looked quite amused.
"Humans, as greedy and stupid as always." Luvon snickered, "Anyways, you pose no threat to me or my kingdom, therefore I will be benevolent and let you go." Luvon snapped his fingers and the cuffs came undone. "You may leave."
I stood up, bowed, and headed towards the door. As I walked out the door and through the gate, I realized how weird the meeting was. Why did he send soldiers to arrest me, how did they know I killed the Demon Orc King, and why did he let me go.
I understand that killing the Demon Orc King I disobeyed the guild rules, but for the king himself to be involved. Something didn't seem right. Maybe it was because I was a human? Something to ponder on for the future, I'll need to keep my eye out for the Elven government.
