After getting all the oil in their body, Selena walked Barney out of the cafe to where he parked his car. Thankfully, Barney always has extra clothes with him.
Standing by the back of the car, Selena helped Barney to open the trunk. The oil in their hands has made it hard for them to open it. Every time their hands will try to pull the trunk open, it will slip and when it happened a roar let out from their lips.
It took some time before they could open the trunk. As soon as Barney took his extra clothes, they both went back to the cafe.
Barney opened the door using his body, afraid to leave his oily prints on the shiny door. He knows how hard Leo worked on wiping it.
After Selena past him, he followed her towards the curly stairs.
"You can use the shower in the hallway at the third floor and I will use the bathroom in Daniella's room," Selena was saying that when she noticed that Barney stopped in front of the photo. His face bore a confusion as he deeply stared on the portrait.
In just a few minutes, the cafe will open. Selena rushed to remind him that they need to leave soon.
"Is that you?" Barney suddenly asked her.
Selena diverted her eyes to where his index finger was pointing. She was about to answer 'yes' when she noticed that he's pointing straight on the horse.
Her eyes narrowed as she looked back at him, the man had a serious face as if he really meant what he asked.
"Do I look like a horse to you, Barney," she hurtfully asked, lips pouting as she stared back at him.
Barney's gave her a fake smile and tried pinching both of her cheeks but with his oily hands, his finger slides down.
"You were calling me a dinosaur. isn't fair to call you a horse?" he playfully said, still trying so hard to pinch her cheeks.
Selena just let Barney touch her cheeks, she didn't mind it as he has been so helpful since they met.
Her face went blank after hearing his words, she seized his hand from pinching her face and directed it to his face.
"Why don't you pinch your cheeks instead of mine. And to answer your question, no that's not me. But that sexy woman next to the horse," she boastfully said. Eyes shining with satisfaction as she stared at her photo.
"Where? where's the sexy woman?" Barney bent closer to the photo, pretending to look for something.
"There oh!" Selena pointed at her photo.
"Where?"
"There!" Selena responded with annoyance.
But Barney was not done teasing her, he even moved his face closer to the portrait that the photo could almost touch his nose.
"I can't find a sexy woman here. Can you give me a magnifying glass?" he said, chuckling.
The last thread of Selena's patience has faded when Barney asked her for a magnifying glass. Her oily hand traveled to his head and shoved his face against the photo.
Barney groaned in protest but, Selena didn't let him go. He could have slapped her hand away from his head but, he decided not too.
"Do you see it now?" Selena's voice was full of sarcasm as she said those words. If Barney will still deny it, she will bury his dead body under Louisa's bed and she's pretty sure the girl wouldn't mind it.
"Yes, yes I see it now. She's standing next to me," Barney said in defeat. He had a hard time saying those words as his lips were kissing the photo.
Selena scoffed and let his head go. Barney massages his nose after it's been smashed to the photo.
"Why are you so aggressive?" he complained asking.
Selena narrowed her eyes, showing how irritated she was.
"You've mistaken me for a horse!" she blurted.
Barney laughed and patted her head, soothing her.
"I am just a human. I can also make mistakes," he playfully continued teasing her.
"Human? Aren't you a dinosaur?" she teases back.
Barney let out a half-suppressed laugh while rubbing the wrinkled in between of Selena's eyebrows.
"Well, I guess we are just same," this time, the smile and laugh he had has disappeared.
He looked at her puzzled yet innocent face, wondering why she couldn't see the reason why he's always around her.
Meanwhile, Selena just looked at Barney, wondering why he suddenly stopped smiling.
To cheer him up, she has decided to invite him.
"Hey, Alejandro and I are going to visit my horse this Sunday. Since you're suspended would you like to come?" her shoulder has suddenly tensed. She meant to invite him, she really does but, there was part of her hoping that he will say no.
"Nah! I need to visit my sister," Barney decline.
She nodded, suddenly feeling curious about this life.
"How many sisters do you have Dino?" she curiously asked.
"One,"
His answer was short and for a moment she saw his eyes blazed with agony.
The memory she had in the hospital flashed in her mind, the voice of Alejandro's father talking about Barney's sister has made her perplexed. Wondering if she misunderstood the word 'gone'.
She momentarily looked at Barney with her mouth snapped out. There was a sorrow in his eyes but, she queried why? If his sister is alive why was there a pang of sadness in his eyes?
She beamed and patted his arm, breaking the silence between them.
"Maybe you can bring your sister? We have space in the car," she gladly offered.
Barney slightly swiveled his body to face her, his head lowered to look at her eyes.
His mouth curved into a smile, but even so, the sadness was clearly imprinted on it.
"I would bring her but it will take time to dig her body and I don't think you will have enough space in the car for her coffin unless you have a hearse," he said with a fake smile.
The way Barney said those words were troubling her. She felt as if he was feeling guilty but trying to mask it with his voice.
Her breaths quickened, unsure of what to say next. She knows she can say her sympathy but, what can it do. She tried cheering him up by inviting him but, instead she ended up hurting him, letting him reminisced the past.
She could have been careful, given what she had heard in the hospital but instead, she spoke what she has in her mind, causing him more pain.
"I am sorry to hear," she spoke in a soft tone. "I have lost someone too and it's painful but, what can we do than to accept what had happened and continue on living. We must find a reason to continue," she gloomily said, those words were not only meant for Barney but to her as well. Remembering the pain she had experienced seeing her mother's dead body was unbearable.
Tears shimmered in her eyes, to stop it from falling, Selena blinked and took in a sharp breath.
She lifted her sight to meet his solemn eyes. She noticed how his chest rose and fell with rapid breaths as if he was trying to restrain himself from crying.
"You must find a reason to live," she plastered a gentle and charming smile on her lips. She wanted to send him a message that life was not that hard if he just finds someone to share it with.
Barney nodded, and this time, his usual dazzling smile was back on his lips.
"I think I just did," he meaningfully said but, he knows now that no matter what he does, Selena will not realize his feeling towards her unless his lips will say those words.
"Good!" Selena huffed and pulled him by an arm.
"Let's go take shower," she continued dragging him upstairs.
As the two walked towards the stairs, Alexa who was standing behind the counter watched them leave with her eyes swelled in shock.
She blinked repeatedly after Selena and Barney's figure left the room. When her father emerged from the kitchen, Alexa rushed to him and tugged on the sleeves of his shirt.
"Daddy! Daddy! Oh my God! You will not believe it!" she quickly said, not bothering to even breath.
"Calm down and tell me what happened?" her father seized her arms, stopping her from moving.
"Selena and Barney will take shower together but, they are not married yet!" she snitched out with exaggeration.
Her father's face went blank, he turned her body at the direction of the stairs and gently push it.
"Go and share it with your mom. She will be more excited to hear it."
Without a second thought, Alexa's long legs raced upstairs. Her voice full of excitement was roaring around the house as she shouted, "Mom. Selena and Barney are taking shower together."
