"Let us get seated by the time they arrive then" Antonio said, he was about to walk towards the table where Professors and Headmistress sit for their meals but Evelina stopped him.
"What happened" Antonio asked in a confused tone, he looked at Evelina in a questioning way.
"I want to sit on the Gryffindor table along with my friends" Evelina said calmly but her eyes pleaded Antonio silently.
"Very well then" Antonio said as he smiled warmly towards Evelina and walked towards the Gryffindor table.
Though everyone was shocked by their decision to sit on the Gryffindor table rather than on the Professor's table along with the Professors and the Headmistress, none of them dared to question them as no one had that authority.
Meanwhile James, Lorcan, Lysander, Fred, Roxanne, Dominique and Alice walked towards the Great Hall after completing a tiring lecture of History of Magic.
"James, did you visit Eva today" Alice asked softly as she looked at James in concern evident in her eyes.
"I will visit her after lunch" James said calmly, after the incident he completely locked himself up withing his heart, expressionless and indifferent to everything and everyone.
"It is already been a month, how many more days does she need to wake up" Dominique asked as she looked at James, eyes full of worry for Evelina.
"They are not sure either, all we can do is wait for her to wake up" James said in a helpless tone full of regret and heartache.
He suddenly regretted asking Evelina to share all of her worries with him, which created a slight drift between them and then the incident in the train worsened it even more.
The way she talked to him at first and after was different, though others failed to notice it, he noticed it immediately. Her guards went up around him, the walls around her heart will rise in height every time, tried to approach her to open up to him and now he regretted it all.
He entered the Great Hall deep in thoughts and listlessly sat down on the Gryffindor table. He flipped his plate and looked at the dishes in front of him.
He did not feel like eating so he looked around the table to search for some beverage. He found the pumpkin juice in the first glance but it was out of his reach.
"Could please get the juice for me, Thank you" James asked the person seated beside him without looking in their direction.
The juice was passed to him, he was pouring it in his glass when suddenly a piece of braised meat was placed in his plate, it was hesitant step but still daring.
He frowned and looked to his side, ready to scold the person who daringly placed the food in his plate without his consent. This was not new to him, many girls did it and flirted to him in hopes of dating him but he never intended to date someone he did not fall for.
"Are you..." James started but trailed off mid sentence.
He was shocked beyond comprehension, siting beside him Evelina was smiling at him warmly and this was the first time she smiled like that towards him.
His heart skipped a beat involuntarily and then it started beating like crazy, he was just minutes away from getting an adrenaline rush from her sweet warm smile.
He was shell shocked, it was as if he turned into a statue, that is what everyone around him thought.
Evelina looked at him in amusement as he froze in his place, mid-sentence. She waved her hand in front of eyes to snap him back from his dazed and stunned state.
