Sam closed his eyes, as he knew that everything was going to change in another few minutes, his jaw clenched in frustration and anger towards his useless self.
The European woman who was around the same age as him looked his expression and understood what he was going as she was no different, she rested her hand on his palm startling Sam. He looked at the woman beside him in a questioning way.
"Accept it, that is what is better for us and them. We cannot do anything we are powerless and they are born to be powerful and make those sacrifices" she nodded at him reassuringly, her voice calm and steady.
Sam looked at her for a complete minute and then averted his gaze as he nodded helplessly. Sam was seated along with three other foreigners who were around his age, all with the same helpless and regretful gazes.
None of them wanted to be present at the moment, as for all of them it was a torture beyond comprehension.
In common Royal Families there is always power struggle but in case of the Wizarding World there was none like that as only one was the eligible one and was also the one who went through most torture.
The glory definitely comes at a price, neither does being cold blooded helps nor soft hearted ones succeed in escaping the pain.
The train of thoughts of all four of them was interrupted with the Headmistress continuing with her statements, with each succeeding statements the blows handled were great as well.
"Yes, there are four Royal Families in the Wizarding World as well. British Royalty being DeSouza's, Russian Royalty being Petrov, American Royalty being Miller and French Royalty being McJonnes's" Headmistress McGonagall introduced the royalties with their countries.
Suddenly most of the students started understanding why the exchange student's family lineage was mentioned and that was because she was a Princess of the Wizarding World.
Meanwhile in the Gryffindor table everyone was stunned beyond words, all of them dumbfounded by the bomb which was just bombarded on them.
"You all must be confused why their existence was not widely known as the royalties from the Muggle World are remembered that is because years back the ancestors of the Royalties together promised something to some great wizards one of them being Merlin" Headmistress continued.
[MERLIN is a great Wizard and is considered as one of the earliest wizards who existed even before the institutions were founded and set up]
"That promise was that the Royal Family will go dormant every alternant generation, giving chance to other great Wizards from ordinary backgrounds to shine" Headmistress McGonagall said as she smiled warmly towards Harry who was seated along with the rest of the Ministry.
"In simple words, the first generation will rule till their heir that is the second generations turns seventeen and then they will go dormant till the second generation's heir that is the third generation turns seventeen" Headmistress McGonagall explained calmly.
[Seventeen is not a random number, in Wizarding world a Witch or Wizard turns adult at the age of seventeen and are allowed to use magic freely out of the school grounds]
"All the four Royal Families, together rule over the Wizarding World by taking up different sectors under their control and unitedly maintain peace in the Wizarding World" Headmistress McGonagall continued.
"During the times the Royal Families goes dormant, the heirs of that generation are powerless and cannot help out even if they intend to and unfortunately some dark lords took advantage of it time and again" Headmistress McGonagall said as she looked towards her students solemnly.
