Chereads / A Witch in Training / Chapter 3 - Her Hand

Chapter 3 - Her Hand

Most students would have a better bond after sitting together in the train. Ezereath's group is no exemption. It is just that one student did not interact with them, but only gave off chilly air and stares from time to time.

The train stopped and the students started to get off from the train. Wearing their uniforms, the first years were instructed to stay in one group.

Holding his hand, she dragged him out and followed the other students with Vale and Miya. The gates of Hogwarts is visible to them with their luggage being inspected, and the excited students ran towards it, not minding the teachers who was leading them.

"We'll ride in boats so students, group yourselves into 4. Be careful in riding the boats, as you might fall into the water" the teacher walked towards the boats and helped the grouped students to ride them.

Still holding his hand, she signalled the two to follow them, forming a group of four. Seeing Ezereath holding the silent boy's hand for a long time, they looked at each other with a questioning look.

They are not together, right?

No communication between the two in the train, cold gazes and silent answers were often given to them so they thought they just coincidentally sat together. But holding each other's hands? And the other party did not even protested nor let go of his hand.

Oblivious of what Vale and Miya is thinking, the two students already got their turn to sit on the boat. Ezereath found the teacher helping other students to their boats. Letting go of his hand and after letting him on the boat first, she looked back at the two.

The boy's expression changed again, but it changed back when Ezereath turned and stretched out his hand. He gave her a questioning look.

"The boat will rock, the teacher is not here and I don't want to get outbalanced when riding so..." Not letting her finish her sentence, he held her hand to help her on the boat.

The others rode their boats and started their journey towards the castle-like building.

Miya really wanted to ask Ezereath about earlier but she stopped herself because he's with them. So they just continued the talk they did not finish in the train, and again, forgetting the presence of another person beside Ezereath.

The boat stopped and the students got off. Again, the boy got off first and helped Ezereath get off from the boat which made Miya and Vale to look at each other again.

When she got off, she did not let go of his hand which he did not mind. The teacher just told them earlier to follow a path and they'll meet someone who'll guide them to the halls.

"Welcome to Hogwarts. In a few moments later you will pass through these doors and join your classmates but before you can take your seats, you must be sorted into your houses. The house of Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw and Slytherin."

"While you students are here, your house will be like your family and every triumphs and rule breaking will be shared by the family, and will gain or lose points. When the end of the year comes, there will be a house cup awarded to the house which determines the winner through its points earned throughout the year."

The teacher left for awhile then returned, and asked them to follow.

They followed the teacher to the hall and saw a lot of students separated in different houses sitting together.

The first year students were then lead to the front, where they can see the teachers and the headmaster of the school.

As most of them were from wizarding families except for the muggle borns, they knew that this is the time when they'll be sorted into their respective houses.

Ezereath was excited, and she let go of his hand. He looked at her and then at his hand. He stared at his hand for a long time then looked at her again.

Why did she let go?
