The next day Bali founds Tein close to the door of death, but she's just sleeping. Why did I need to worry about this kid I'm just a child myself. If only death doesn't follow closely behind her...
It's not that her life is always in danger but someone around her dies unexpectedly. When I found her I thought she's already a dead baby, that's not crying not even moving even if I'm not hungry she could still be eaten later. At first I am disappointed but well she is weird there is an aura that is dark not surrounding her but it follow closely behind after I pick the baby. Strong people become slaves but not everyone is a fool submitting to those rich people.
Life is hard but we continue to live. "You piece of sh*t wake up!" She just grumble and turn to her other side. I kick her and she woke up.
"Arrgh did I fall asleep again?" Tein start to stretch her shoulders and back, then she stands up and jump a few times. "I think you are right Bali I really sucks at acting sh*t"
But you are sh*t yourself. Bali thought to himself. Something caught his eyes when he looked down Tein's feet. "Hey where did you get that tattoo?" It's a strange symbol but it looks like a scythe and the color is red. The dark aura is still there but Bali can't find his meat. Thinking that someone dies.
"What tattoo you are talking about? Do you think I have money to pay for it? I don't even know what money looks like." Since it's not about food Bali drop the topic and follows the child quitely.
Somewhere a distance not far from them an accident happened. Someone falls from the building he is fighting another man but it is a slave stronger than him so he was sent flying and breaks the glass window. He is not a superhuman and he can't really fly so he falls from the top part of the building. While falling he's already unconscious so there's no sound. He falls directly to another man under, this other man was one of the bodyguards that beat Tein. He was smashed by the other man's body and it's not a sight you would want to see.
"Did you here someone falls from the..."
"Let's go Tein it's meat" Bali immediately run to where he heard the gossip about something has fallen. He didn't know he would not get anything from there.
"... building and smashed the other below."
"Ah you mean what happened around the corner? Sadly you can't get anything from there."
"Why aren't you already used to eating those?"
"You shut up. I heard the hotel staff already cleaned the place. Besides the meat was already smashed to the point of being a liquid element."
Hahahaha If Bali heard this he won't waste his time walking even if just a short distance.
To the poor people they don't have any idea of what meat we are talking about. Even the rich people doesn't have any ideas about us scavengers. Bali doesn't have any ideas too of whom started eating those meat. The oldest scavenger in the area is a mute she doesn't know how to read or write so she can't tell the scavengers history.
"You kid do you know where is Bali?" Said one of the scavengers while pushing me that I fell to my butt.
"Boss I think it's better if we don't involve ourselves with this kid." warned the other one.
"Oh shut up. I know what I'm doing. If we find Bali and beat him we could feed on him till next full moon."
That's how big and fat Bali. Fools don't even think about eating that thing. Innocent as I am I told them Bali went to the accident area. Some scavengers are fools thinking of killing and eating other scavenger. Scavengers are like ghouls they eat the dead but ghouls are empty living being they only think of eating and nothing else.
While walking around I keep thinking about the dream I have last night. Why is that world different from my world. In my world it's chaotic and dark different creatures are everywhere they coexist with humans but it is still survival of the richest. I don't know how the system works here. This world is called Appoca I heard before this world is peaceful but due to some strange things and experiments this world turned to this. There are zombies not your typical zombies but these zombies have hierarchy. There are also mythical creatures like unicorns, pegasus, mermaids and a lot more that I haven't heard or seen.
"So did you meet some meats?" I ask Bali even though he looked like he wanted to kill me.
"The meats run away now I have nothing to eat. Do you know how hard it is for me?" he said while slumping to his stomach.
"Yeah, yeah why don't you get rid of those fats or try eating them?"
"Shut up you sh*t this is my crowning glory." he said and throws a rock that hits my forehead.
"Ouch. You dumb ball!"
Tein shouted and they wrestle where the winner is obviously Tein. She's sitting on Bali's stomach as she gave him some punch to his face, while Bali is struggling to reach the girl in his stomach. He has short arms and it cannot reach to grab the girl.
"Stahpppp! stohp iht, stohp iht I give uph. I'm shorry." Bali says hardly cause his face is really swollen especially his lips.
"Tsk. tsk. it's a few beating and you already give up. You can't act sh*t Bali you better stay as a dumb ball!"
Bali just hold his fist tighter but not tight enough to make it bleed.
One day if I reduce you will fall for my handsome face if you can't find someone you fancy. He thought cause one reason why he keeps Tein by his side is that the child is really pretty but he doesn't think her as his partner rather he only think of her as his little sister.
Days past and this two just continue their usual life until they started their journey and ended near the undead territory. They left the Red district or district of human species because few where jumping the Red River and scavengers like them started to lose their minds. Their country is called Maguba and this place is divided into eight district or eight territories. Tein and Bali came from Red district now they are approaching the Grey district or the undead territory.
"Hey Tein be a bait. We need some offering to enter the Grey district." Bali said and hides himself.
"Why is it always me! You said I am not good in acting!" Maybe I'm really good at my stuff but Bali is too shy to admit it. I positioned myself near the road where merchants usually pass I know they will get interested in selling me to the brothels pubs or slavers. I act like I'm giving up my life and sit there without a care in the world.
A young man took the bait and approach Tein. He thought, "what a lucky day I can sell this thing and the money I get could last me a year. hahahaha"
Tsk. What a fool falling for that sh*ts poor act. Bali took his rope and throws it to the young man's neck. Well I understand that Tein's body develops well in just few years and I also lost my crowning glory due to her constant beating.
Bali lose weights cause he becomes a punching bag by Tein. Everytime they wrestle he always lose. They always fight through there journey but they become closer to each other like a real siblings. And Bali doesn't have a choice but to reduce cause he noticed that his little sister is getting prettier and her beauty can't hide anymore. If he continues to become fat he can't ran after Tein knowing that this girl is really a trouble.
"See through my unending practice these years my acting skills improve aren't you gonna praise me Bali?"
