When Nidhi entered the living room having done the dishes after breakfast, Thresya was already sitting on the sopha, deep in contemplation. Thresya is Nidhi's great-grandaunt, who even at the age of 95, is an avid traveler and is Nidhi's all time idol and best friend. She is easily the most open, nonjudgmental, funny, mischievous and coolest person, if you go by Nidhi.
All I can say about them is, they are one crazy, stubborn, eccentric duo. Anyway, after the initial shock wore off, Thresya burst out laughing.
" So you told your mother that you were going to learn and your father that you were going to stay with me. Now, you want me to take you in with me, in other words, take full responsibility for your upcoming unpredictable actions with your parents and then travel on your own. Right ??"
She trained her glittering eyes on Nidhi, who nodded her head in affirmation. "young lady, in your grand scheme of things, you seem to have forgotten the most important part: what's in it for me ??"
Thresya trusted Nidhi enough to let her travel on her own. After all someone has to carry the legacy for her. So the eccentric old lady was already counting gains and making deals, in the order.
Nidhi answered with a confident smile, " I will owe you one. I can also deal with Molly aunty for you. "
" Sounds good. Next month am planning a trip with my friends, You will also convince the people around here. If not, you will cover for me. what say ? "
"Fine, I agree. If you take me in I can fake you going for a spiritual retreat next month. Just don't share any pictures, that's all." Nidhi agreed, already imaging the storm it might cook up, incase anybody in the family got the wind of it.
"Now, tell me about Molly. " Thresya smiled happily, not at all like a scheming mother in law.
Thus began their crazy days, of cooking experiments, planning trips, pranking Molly, testing the patience of every single individual around, especially Xavier, Thresya's son and Molly's beloved husband, who lived at the house just opposite their outhouse.
