Now I remember, that time when I was inside the office of Richard, he was uneasy when the phone rang. Probably, he was warned that his wife Rona was on her way to the office. That was why, his mood turned 360 degrees when he learned that she was coming. In fact, he almost pushed me out of the door, that was when I almost bumped to the monster lady.
I was brought to my senses when I heard footsteps coming near. I was staring up the fence and couldn't believe how high it was. Then my thoughts wandered elsewhere...
With my father's connection to big construction firms, immediately our home had a fence and a gate in just 5 days. It was too high that I imagined it touching the sky. My father is indeed overprotective when it comes to his family, but his reaction to what Rona had done to my mother was I think, exaggerated. Not until I was convinced myself that indeed, the fence as high as that was a necessity.
I was on my way to the hospital, it was 2pm. Unlike before, I go to work alone and ride a public vehicle with the other commuters. I feel normal when I am with the common people rushing to go to work or back home. I did not find it a problem neither an inconvenience even if I can use my own car anytime if I want to. Yet I did not. Not until Rona came to our lives.
Two bodyguards were also assigned to accompany me every time I go out of our residence. That was the inconvenience yet I did not complain. With the precautions we made, I thought everything was under control. But, after 10 days of the incident with Rona and my mom, a bomb exploded in front of our gate.
It was the time when I was about to go out to work. The gate was already opened but our car was still way out of the gate. It was one of the protocol when one of the family goes out of our residence. The gate shall be opened for a minute, with cctv camera scanning and guards situated just above the gate were to look for possible dangers and shall declare clearance. Even the presence of objects or people near the gate shall be cleared before a car be out from the garage.
I think the explosion was not that big. It did not cause any damage to the gate or fence. A few scratches and burn marks were seen but it did not cause the 3-feet width metal fence be disfigured nor was the gate crippled.
Yet, it caused so much alarm to our family that if there would be bells ringing, it would reach the angels in heaven.
