Chapter 69 - It Was All Merely A Training

"This place is..."

The elven adventurer points Sieghart the way to the southern district. After following her, the quiet street in the southern wall covered in chilling ice meets his eyes.

"There's no denying it. This is Eileen's doing. But..."

Aside from the ground that froze due to Eileen's magic, there's a crescent shaped ice wall that is evidently broken as though something was sent flying into it. The scattered shards of ice lying right in front of the ice wall is more than enough proof for it.

"It looks like she fought and sent her opponent here with those ice shards." Lira added.

"Hey, Lira, Sieghart! Look!"

Jinrah gestured at the two to come see what he found. After following Jinrah, the screaming people that were left frozen shocked them.

"T-This..."

"The reilaean knight guards."

Sieghart approaches one of the frozen up bodies of the reilaean knight guards and taps its shoulder with his index and middle finger. But afterwards, the body suddenly showed up with cracks all over it and eventually collapsed on the ground.

The group were utterly surprised to the collapsed frozen body of the poor reilaean knight guard who is undeniably dead due to Eileen's magic.

"How could she do such a thing...?"

Sieghart faced the three as he tells them:

"Eileen would not do something like this, unless she's who she was back 15 years ago."

"Don't tell me..." David added.

"Eileen fought the emerald adventurer. She confronted Christa here."

David gasped as he realized the situation. Eileen went to Christa as she suspects the young adventurer to be a demon in disguise. Sieghart and Lira's eyes met.

"Lira!"

"...Got it!"

The air started circling and dancing around Lira. The elven lady then began jumping onto the air as if she's stepping on a floor up across the skies.

Lira takes a high spot in hopes of finding Eileen. Meanwhile back down to the ice covered road.

"This is my fault, I should've taken action earlier right after noticing Eileen getting concerned over Christa."

Sieghart said so to himself as he thought he failed to take action when he can to prevent the situation Eileen is in now. Sieghart is disappointed to himself.

"It's fine. You don't have to blame yourself for it, Sieghart."

David pats Sieg by the shoulder as he continues to talk to him.

"I doubt that Christa is the trigger to make Eileen remember the past or something. She's probably just too good at hiding it, but Eileen never really changed. She always have been the adventurer who we found trembling in fear with her party lying dead in front of her. She's the adventurer who did everything in order to avenge her friend. She will always be the adventurer who hates demons, and you."

"We weren't all in the same party when we fought the demon. We are adventurers with our own parties hired to take down the demon and its minions. Stealing the final blow is always common. But the way you fight the demon all by yourself at the end is not to steal the spotlight. But to keep other adventurers from losing their lives, especially Eileen." Jinrah added.

"Jinrah's right. You did the right thing, Sieghart. So stop sulking like a kid." David proceeded to lightly tap Sieghart's shoulder.

"Ah, wait, that's a compliment to you, right?"

"Hmph! You jerk!" Sieghart smirked. "I'm not Lira."

"I can hear you, Ogre!"

"Geh!"

Sieghart as well as David and Jinrah looked up to the night sky watch Lira still wandering her eyes around the dark corners of the vicinity.

"It's kinda hard to see anyone with this time." Lira spoke in a hassled tone. "I hope Eileen gives a hint of where she is..."

Lira goes on looking around for some time, until she turned into the right spot where which she caught a little glimpse of a reddish crescent light up above the same height as her. Right at the north east side of the capital.

And at the upper corner of her eyes, she saw a giant magic circle right above the spot where she caught the reddish light. The magic conjured a giant crystal made of ice that which fall straight down to the earth.

"That..."

Lira's eyes slowly widens as she thinks she found where Eileen is.

...

At the present time where the giant ice-crystal already fell onto the surface. The dust and other things that have lifted up due to the impact are still obscuring the vision for Eileen. But also is to Itsuo and Selene.

Selene closed her eyes to try and sense Christa's energy like before. It took some time, but Selene was surprised to sense Christa, indicating that she's still alive.

"Christa's still alive!"

"What?!"

The shrouding of dust that created a smoke slowly fades away, revealing Christa gritting her teeth as she miraculously keeping the giant crystal from falling over her with her wooden sword.

Eileen was nervously shocked at the site.

"Impossible... There's no doubt that the wooden sword she carries with is blessed with great strengthening and hardening enhancements. But to think that she could stop it alone... No, there's no time to panic, I'll crush her with this attack!"

Eileen uses her magic to make the crystal heavier and forcing it down to Christa who is trying to stop it from doing an actual impact.

"C..crap! She's forcing it down on me!"

Little by little, the crimson eyed girl is being pushed down by the giant crystal.

"This is not good! She's still pushing the crystal down to crush Christa!"

Selene remarked. While Itsuo is thinking of going in to interfere Eileen from crushing Christa. Itsuo wants to help Christa in a dreadful situation, but he knows all too well that Christa only needed help when she asks for it. So instead of intervening into the fight, Itsuo stood still, he remained calm as he wordlessly believed that Christa can handle the fight herself.

...

"Damn you! Why won't you die?!"

Eileen triples the weight of the giant crystal as she forcefully tries to crush it down onto Christa. But even though she's putting all her magical power into it, Christa still looked like she's handling herself really well.

"Why?! I'm using all my magical power to make it as heavy and force it down as I could, but she's still able to keep it from falling down!"

"Huh? This is all you can do?"

"...!"

Christa's crimson eyes rolled down to the left as she gave a glare of disappointment at Eileen who was utterly terrified by Christa.

"I thought you could help me from my training but... I guess it's that hard to find someone who can actually equal Master Angelika."

Christa, who is holding her wooden sword side by side takes one of her hands and puts her palm on the giant crystal. Afterwards, she takes her sword down with her right hand.

The crystal that is deemed to have tripled in weight was easily being carried by a girl with only a single hand.
