Chapter 70 - Conclusion

"Heh!"

Christa stands tall and firm, giving a wide grin while effortlessly carrying a giant boulder of crystal-like ice with only a single hand.

"I-Impossible...!"

"How is she carrying that thing...?"

"Hey, Itsuo, she started moving."

The two watched Christa as she began to move slowly towards Eileen who is trembling in fear and confusion. She doesn't know what to do except watch Christa carrying the crystal she made to kill the young adventurer.

"That's... not possible! Haa!!"

Eileen furiously multiplies the weight and the size of the crystal being carried by Christa. But no matter how many times she did that, the girl with crimson red eyes continues to walk through with the same pace and with no sign of her having trouble with the giant boulder of ice crystal.

"This is impossible! There's no way that anyone could stop and handle such a giant and heavy crystal from falling!"

"Well, it is possible. And I am the proof."

"What?!" Eileen stopped moving in surprise.

"No matter how many times you try, something like this is just a fraction of what my master did to train me. Hell, I'm starting to doubt Angelika if she really were a diamond ranked adventurer. If she were, it must have been a shame to be put together in the same level with the likes of you."

Christa began pressing her fingers harder to the giant crystal, resulting it to grow cracks that extends all around the body of the crystal. Eventually, the crystal collapsed and turned into rock shape rubbles.

"T..this is so unbelievable!"

"She crushed that giant crystal with only a hand?!"

The shattered crystals falls to the ground like glittering stars around Christa.

"Who... no, w-what are you?!"

Eileen's feet trembles while taking steps backwards as she spoke in a shaky voice.

"What am I? I said it before, but I'm a human. Just like you."

"W-What lies! There's no way a human could take such a high level magic! You're a demon!"

"You really are obsessed with demons, aren't you?"

In fear of Christa, Eileen began throwing a barrage of attacks. From a wave of ice shards running through the ground where Christa can easily avoid by flying, a ball of fire she throws at Christa which the fire magic user easily deflect by swallowing it.

"What?! You bastard!!"

To giant vines sprouting from the ground that wraps around Christa's arms and pulls her back on the ground.

"Eileen can use other magic?" Itsuo asked as his eyes were focused on the battle.

"Yes, most people to refer to Eileen as an Elementalist. Unlike most of the people who can only use one element type of magic, Eileen is one of those people who has an aptitude to control more than one magic. But in her case..."

Selene observed Eileen who is obviously panicking while attacking.

"Eileen's ice magic is stronger than the others. Seeing as Christa easily stopped that obviously high level magic with nothing but a single hand, Eileen who mainly uses ice magic would obviously panic..."

"I see. She got nothing left up her sleeve. Then.. It's Christa's victory." Itsuo followed.

...

Christa breaks free of the vines rather easily by just simply pulling her hands off of the vines that Eileen summoned from the ground.

"Ah...!"

"So you can use other elemental magic other than ice, huh? Too bad they were weaker than ice your ice magic. Perhaps you only put your effort into mastering ice magic and not others?"

"Enough your babbling!"

Eileen fires another fireball through her hand but the fall of bire stopped right in front of Christa as she swallows it all like a vaccum.

"N-no way...!" Eileen grits her teeth in irritation.

"Even if you stop now, you'll simply return and attempt on killing me again, no?"

"Huh?"

"In that case, I'll have to make you realize that you're too far from doing that."

Christa began approaching Eileen rather casually as she walks right towards her.

"I-I'll kill you, you damn demon!"

Another vines sprouted near Christa as it tries to approach her, but in that instant, the vines burns and died without even touching the girl. Eileen goes on and fires a fireball but it simply disappeared right in front of Christa. Then another wave of ice splits the ground, but the ice melted half-way.

"No way... How is this...?"

"Not even your strongest elemental magic can get past my domain anymore. That goes to show how weakened you've become. My fists will be more than enough."

Christa throws her sword on the ground as she cracks her knuckles one by one.

"D-Don't come any closer!"

"What? We simply just switched places. You're the one who's engaging me first. Now it's my turn to take the first move."

"Wha?!"

Eileen began throwing attacks without making sure if it was strong enough to damage Christa. But then, her attacks cannot reach even a single touch on Christa's clothes as it either burns or melts on the way.

In the moment she blinked her eyes, Christa is already standing right in front of her like a horrifying ghost that sends terror to Eileen.

"Huh?!"

"Don't ever forget about this pain."

"Puhaah!!"

Christa mercilessly punched through Eileen's gut, making her spit out blood as she felt tremendous pain from a single punch. Eileen fell on her knees as her arms were wrapped around her stomach, stuttering from the pain.

Itsuo averted his gaze on the two as though he also felt the pain from Christa's punch.

"I can't look. I feel like I'm the one that got punched." Itsuo said, implying that he too experienced Christa's punch during their training.

But while Itsuo couldn't muster up the courage to look, Selene remained still as she watched the entire battle up to it's conclusion. Shortly after, Selene takes off from the house as she told Itsuo to get to Christa.

"Itsuo, let's go."

"I..I'll follow right behind you..."

...

"Surely, you're not gonna die just from that."

The pain is coursing through her body as Christa continues.

"You seem like you can become even stronger as an elementalist. But that grief and hatred is keeping you from doing so. Dwelling in the past won't do you any good."

Christa turns around, with her back facing Eileen.

"If you really don't want to make the same mistakes you did back then. Think about the things that are in front of you, not the things that are meant to be buried in the past. Become stronger to protect the people you cared about, not to put the blame to someone else to compensate."

"I want to battle with you again. Not a battle driven with anger and grief, but a battle to learn and improve."
