After the assassination attempt, when Charles, Lucas and the other knights weren't there anymore, Kiel walked closer to the incident and saw the bloody bodies of the assailants. Close to where the prince was seating a while ago, he saw a tiny shimmering thing under the sun. It turned out it was a golden necklace and had a similarly golden locket attached to it. It contained the picture of a silver-haired woman around her 40s.
He heard some people approaching his side most likely there to clean the place. He immediately hid the necklace in his pocket together with the pouch. He judged that the necklace was from Charles as it was where Charles was seating a while ago. It may not originally be the item he was planning to get, but he thought it will do.
Now that Kiel had items from both Alice and Charles, he began to carry out his plan. As there was still time before Lilia goes back, he quickly wrote a letter addressed to Charles. It contained information about the necklace telling him that if he wanted it back then he should go to place X on the next day at a certain time.
As Lilia was about to ride her carriage home, a strange thing happened again as she was caught off balance. Luckily, it was a minor setback for her and thought nothing more of it as she tried entering the carriage again.
Inside, Lilia and an invisible Kiel were sitting face to face. Lilia felt her eyes water at the ridiculousness of her situation. Her system was awake and was telling her how she should just prepare for her soul to be terminated since having only two days more to make Charles and Alice meet would be an impossible task.
Inside Kiel's head, was a similar situation, 25 made angry remarks at Kiel about how simple his moves were. Asking him whether he believed that such a letter would make the crown prince go to Place X alone and if he was sure that the necklace was Charles', it could possibly Lucas' for goodness sake!
Two people were seating face to face but due to their individual worries, they didn't bother with anyone as if they were alone. The carriage stopped at the Horace estate, and Kiel excitedly followed Lilia as the door was opened for her. In an empty room, Kiel wrote a letter addressed to Alice informing her that Lilia invited her to go to Place X the next day on a certain time.
The second day before the world ends (for Kiel and Lilia)…
Lilia again went to the palace but this time the invisible Kiel didn't go with her. He was on his way to Place X.
Charles was happily waving a piece of letter and went to the prime minister's estate to the displeasure of his uncle. He was still waving a letter in his hand when a panda eyes Lucas met him.
"What do you want?"
An irritated Lucas greeted Charles. He was up all night trying to find his precious necklace containing the picture of his mother who passed away.
"Are you sure you want to chase away this precious cousin of yours? Don't you want to know where your necklace is?"
At the mention of the necklace, Lucas' eyes turned sharp and asked Charles to give it back to him. Charles immediately defended himself and handed the letter instead.
"The perpetrator must have thought it was mine."
Charles asked what he will do. Lucas then responded to him that he will go to Place X alone. Anyway, he was confident he can handle whatever it was. If he couldn't, he can just rely on the points he gained yesterday. Lucas asked the crown prince not to follow him but the crown prince insisted on protecting his precious cousin so he followed secretly. Lucas felt too bothered to drive the crown prince away so he just let him be.
