Sophia tilted sideways. Actually Noah wasn't planning on shooting Sophia, but she shot the waiter behind her.
"He was trying to kill you." Noah explained.
"Ah? How do you know?" Sophia asked, obviously in a suspecting tone.
"He had pointed a gun at your head." Noah replied nonchalantly.
Sophia moved towards the waiter, who was clutching his stomach. His blood was flowing through his wound.
"Who send you here?" Sophia asked threateningly.
"I...I..will not tell you." The waiter murmured painfully, panting for air.
"Do you not love your life? At least you must care about your family."
The waiter started crying. He stuttered and finally opened his mouth, "I..it w..was Ava Lockhart."
Sophia bent down and whispered something in his ear and his eyes widened in fear. He spoke something timidly, in a low voice.
Noah wasn't able to hear anything which the waiter was speaking, she narrowed her eyes and went near him. She pressed on his wound hard.
"What are you talking? Ava send you? To kill me or Sophia?" Noah asked with a dark face.
"Soph..." And the waiter died.
Sophia took a deep breathe. It was common in USA to have guns. But this was a type of murder, more of a self defense or act of protecting someone.
"What are you planning to do now, miss Noah?" Sophia questioned, after she calmed herself. But her cracking voice betrayed her. She looked absolutely panicked and frightened.
She wasn't afraid of seeing someone die. As being a agent, seeing a person die was nothing ordinary. But she could not reveal her identity in front of Noah, who was also considered a suspect in this case.
And the second reason was that an agent could not disclose his or her identity. Hence Sophia acted to be panicked and afraid after the waiter died.
"You don't have to worry Sophia. I will handle this. I am sorry if I frightened you. I was just trying to save you."
Sophia half-smiled. "Thank you Noah. Then I shall be going now. It's past midnight. It will not be nice for me to stay here longer."
Sophia went towards her car, but stopped midway and turned to look back, only to see, Noah's two bodyguards carrying the person's body in a vehicle.
Sophia sat down in her car. As an agent, her car was very safe and had various devices fitted inside it. There was a device, which detected if she had any other tracker, except the company she used of.
It was a nice thing, that she there wasn't anything on her body.
Sophia made a phone call, "Track a black sedan, its number is 32XX. Also save the CCTV recording of a hotel. I will send it's location. If it is deleted, then try recovering it at any cost. I will be at the base in half an hour."
Sophia put down her phone. She took out a recording button from inside her shirt. Many would think that it was an extra button, but in truth it was a recording button. She also removed her lenses, which were used to record a video.
She had got major evidence for the case.
She had to find the true culprit.
