Chapter 4 - chp 3

"What were you thinking?!"

Mae was scolding Fiona. They'd let her sleep peacefully just to let in her mother, who was in hysterics. She was alternating between crying at yelling at Fiona. When she looked at Cody for help, he backed out of the room.

"-You don't understand what it's like to be called at two in the morning because your daughter's no longer in her room, then there was blood on the sheets and floor-"

"Ms Myers, you cannot be loud here. There are patients that are resting..." The nurse tried to console her

"Fine" Mae said

Fiona was dragged outside and into Mae's car, where her twin brother was hiding. The first thing she did in the car was punch him.

"What was that for?" he asked way too innocently

"walking out while mom practically bit my head off" I said

"I wasn't planning on dying with you" he said

Mae glanced back at them. The look was so cold it could've frozen over hades. Fiona shivered and sunk down in her seat.

"You're going to spend the rest of this week at home." Mae said calmly

Fiona thought about asking why, or even trying to argue against it. But she thought better of it and just said "Okay"

She found herself thinking about the guy she found yesterday. 'How had he left so quickly? where did he even go? who was he?'

The questions burned a hole in the side of her head the entire ride back home. Fiona needed answers, and she needed to figure it out herself.

**

Fiona peeked into Mae's room to make sure she was asleep. Once she saw the woman sprawled across her bed, she peeked into Cody's room. He was snoring loudly.

Fiona took this as an okay to turn the light on in her room. Her room was facing the street, and just down the street was the hospital. Mae had moved them closer to it once Cody and Fiona turned ten.

Fiona had been sitting at her window for hours trying to get a glimpse of the guy. Just as she was about to give up, she saw movement just across the street.

She sprinted downstairs and froze near one of the Windows. He was closer now, just on the sidewalk outside of her house. She pulled up a chair and sat close to the window just as she saw him look straight at her, then turn away. She blinked, then nearly fell out of her chair. 'Oh My God, He Has Wings!'

She hadn't even finished the thought when he disappeared. Fiona now had a goal in mind. Figure out who or what this person is, and what he wants.
