Night fall brought a waning moon. Fiona sat by the window just so she could see it. It was the only entertaining thing she could do.
Looking down from the moon slightly, she saw a figure. It was too far for her to see clearly, but close enough for her to tell it was a person. 'It's midnight, who's even up this late.... Other than me'
The figure moved and seemed to be looking up at her. Then It moved further into the shadows. Fiona was intrigued.
She looked down at the IV still conected to her arm. She held onto the cord close to where it was put into her skin. 'well, here goes nothing'. She yanked it from her arm, suppressing a scream. She stuck a bandaid over the hole and peeked out of her room. Empty hallway.
She went on quietly to the next hallway, but waited until two nurses passed. Sha went into the girls' bathroom. The window was slightly ajar and a gust of wind blew my hospital gown. Fiona pushed the window farther open, then hoisted herself up.
From where she sat outside, she could see the figure. She could now see that it was a boy, but that was about it. She moved closer by crawling behind the bushes alongside the hospital building.
She froze there, not daring to go any closer. She could see he had dark hair, but gold eyes. He suddenly looked back at where she sat. Fiona moved back farther. When she heard nothing, she looked back. He was gone.
'How is that even possible?'
"Fiona, what are you doing?!"
'dangit'
