"What's that?" asked Duncan.
"It's the Merit of 'Selflessness.' In life, my father never cared for himself, always putting the needs of his people before his desires. If the people wanted a new farm, the King would set that in motion before his own needs. It comes to the point that the people hated it," answered Mordred.
"What? Why would anyone hate their King for fulfilling what they want?" asked Bryan, confused.
"Imagine a person who was born to rule Camelot. Instead, that person spends his entire life living by the sword, brought up in isolation and trained to be the future King. Because of this, the King never had the chance to understand how humans lived. How it's like to play in the town square..."
"Or how was it to cook, clean, and do mundane things like living your life in a village as a human? Thus, the King didn't seem human as she never once thought about others' feelings. Lancelot's affair with the Queen was a big example since the King allowed them to be together."
"But the Knight of the Lake yearned for punishment since he had committed the greatest sin of all to his beloved King. Having been denied that, Lancelot spiraled into madness and fled the kingdom, allowing my rebellion to overtake Camelot while the King was away."
"Because the King was always so devoted to giving her life up for Camelot, the armor allows her to use the needs of those around her to power her attacks. However, it would be difficult to say this Merit would still function as it uses her belief that the King needs to give her life to the people."
Mordred seemed sad when she mentioned the King's hardships during her reign. Mavislin looked away from the Knight of Rebellion in disgust. The Valkyrie was raised to be the future Empress, so that she could have never imagined someone throwing their life away for the kingdom.
It was just too naive... Ruling it as if it was some game of make-believe. The King should have gone to the villages to see what was happening instead of just destroying them without proper plans to relocate the citizens.
Sure, the King might have helped the nation by trying to stop the famine, but her childish behavior ultimately sent the kingdom to ruin. And now, she was revived by someone to wreak havoc on the Earth once more... As if one Battle of Camlann wasn't enough for history.
"That Merit should be easy for me to bypass since it doesn't affect my powers. So now we can continue with the final stage. Upon closer inspection of the model, I find two openings for attack."
"How you'd like to use that information would be entirely up to you, Lady Roydon and Mordred, " said the Ankou, bowing down to allow Mavislin to retake the lead.
The Valkyrie cleared her throat as the Ankou moved the model towards her. Mavislin examined it closely before making her statement.
"Mordred and I will fill up the final role of slaying the King. For me, I will take up on the Ankou's advice and attack from the side. I will be using the Empress of Helios' blade for the attack, while I presume that Mordred would be using her Clarent..."
"No questions about that, right?" instructed Mavislin,
"No, but I would like to know how the sword of Helios works under these circumstances. Because, from what I heard, the Conqueror Of Fire isn't a single target Spell. It's very similar to Galatine, so using it on one person would be very wasteful, not to mention dangerous."
"The rest better back out before the flames hit because it boils anything it touches," asked the Headmaster.
"I have to wear the Emperor's armor to control the blade's area of attack. However, it isn't difficult since all I need to do is to concentrate all the Fire Elemental Energy into a single strike instead of clearing a wave of enemies."
"I promise I know how to control it, and the Pillars won't get affected. I'm aiming for the neck for a confirmed kill. How about you, Mordred?"
"I'm going by the side to slice the King in half, but there is still something that worries me about killing him..."
"What is it?"
"What happens if the King is using my missing body? I mean... That was told in the meeting, right? My body was stolen from Camlann, and I was forced to be floating around in nothingness, unable to move on because no one could claim me, nor did anyone care..."
"The whole idea of me participating was to get my body back, so how am I going to if we destroy the body?" asked the Knight of Rebellion, looking at everyone.
