Galahad was leaning forwards as he had underestimated his earlier strike. Mavislin ran towards the Knight and appeared behind the shield when it vanished. The Knight was impressed as Mavislin summoned back the shield into her hands to strike at his neck.
Sadly, the Knight of the Round Table knew that trick very well and could counter it by ducking down since the shield was held horizontally. Galahad seized the chance to swipe at Mavislin's legs using his sword, but she merely giggled when she felt the slash from such a weak blade.
"Oh? Is that what you Knights call a slash? Did that powerful attack cause the King to die? If so, I'm glad that the Knights of the Round Table had crumbled before it could expand beyond the North Sea! That futile attack deserves to be a circus trick!" yelled Mavislin, instantly healing the wound.
But that's what Galahad thought. In truth, Mavislin's healing abilities were so advanced that her flesh healed the wound when the blade touched the skin. Thus, no blood was around when the slash was made. So Galahad didn't have much to think about as Mavislin swung her leg at his face.
Once more, the Knight flew off to the side, smashing through a rock. Mavislin gave no mercy to the man as she jumped upwards from her place with her shield. The launch from the surface to the air was so great that the waves were affected, emitting a ripple into the vast seas.
The Valkyrie then kicked her shield and sent the large weapon into the ground that Galahad had been standing on. Luckily the Knight's movements were quick as he rolled away from danger and furthered the gap between himself and Mavislin.
Mavislin landed on her feet and delivered a powerful kick to the shield's back to send it flying towards the waiting Knight. Galahad cursed as he struck away the flying weapon of death while running towards Mavislin. The Valkyrie dashed towards her enemy and caught the weapon.
When she did, Mavislin spun around and used the shield to strike at Galahad's shoulder but was halted by his blade. The two fighters were at a standstill as their weapons were jammed together.
"So... You were part of the Round Table Knights... Why did you leave then?" questioned Galahad, trying to push back.
"I didn't leave... You were supposed to return with the Holy Grail to save Camelot from being ruined and depleted of resources, but you gave that wish-granter back to the Heavens... And I watched the Round Table collapse, and Camelot fell into ruin."
Galahad looked lost but tried to hold a serious expression. But Mavislin knew that child like the back of her hand since he always had that look whenever he wanted to learn more about something. The Valkyrie knew she would have to tell him the truth, but...
Why wasn't he informed about the fall of Camelot when he got revived by the King? Or were all of the Knights being resurrected without their proper memories?
"I should have known that I was missing something. When I returned, I knew something was off and that the King wasn't the one I remembered. When I went to work with the Knights, all of them seemed... Off, to say the least. Like, they had distrust amongst themselves," replied Galahad.
Mavislin said nothing as Galahad started to freak out after discovering that his Knights and King had already died before being summoned back into the realm. The Knight of Heaven felt his heart clench as he thought he was part of why Camelot had fallen.
Galahad was still holding his position but quickly found the strength to push away Mavislin's shield and strike at the giant thing again. The Valkyrie was agile enough to protect herself, and the two exchanged a brief moment of clashes for Galahad to unleash his frustration.
"So it was because Camelot had fallen? Why? Was it because of me? That I gave back the Holy Grail? But I... I don't remember giving it back to the Heavens at all! If I had known Camelot was going to collapse, I would've used it to prevent the fall!" shouted Galahad.
The Knight of Heaven knocked away Mavislin's attack, causing the Valkyrie to lose the shield. As Mavislin jumped back, the shield landed beside her with a loud clang. Then, the large weapon vanished into the ocean as Mavislin made her way to Galahad.
"It wasn't your fault... What you did never contributed to the fall of the nation. Displeasure, hatred, and not understanding the hearts of the common masses eventually crippled the kingdom. Camelot was doomed to fall," replied the Valkyrie, sadly looking away to the rising waters.
"Then... Didn't you do anything about it? You are a Mage... Right?"
