Chapter 649 - The Ark Of Request To Fight

"Well, unlike you, who is a soup full of legends about the rulers of the dead, I've got a personality of my own. I am Mordred Pendragon, son of Arthur Pendragon and rightful heir to the throne of Britannia. If fate were to be kinder to us..."

"Let's duel to our heart's content," proposed Mordred, extending out her hand to the Ankou.

"I hope fate would be kinder to these children and us by allowing us to be properly reborn in separate entities to fight battles, with or against each other. But for now, I think we have the same question for Lady Mav..." said the Ankou, shaking the hand.

As Mordred and the Ankou turned to look at Mavislin, the Time Mage instinctively wrapped his arms around the Valkyrie and pulled her close to him in a protective stance.

"We want to participate in the upcoming battle of finding the Black Knight. We believe that we are strong enough to fight in this conflict and take down the Knights of the Round Table," chimed the two spirits.

The Valkyrie blinked rapidly before letting out an exasperated sigh.

"Tag team," said Mavislin, prying away from the clinging Time Mage.

Raiyen looked rejected when Mavislin didn't want his hug, and the Marksman Pillar was intrigued by Valkyrie's decision.

"Work together like brother and sister because I can't let you both fly solo simultaneously. It'll be a headache for me if both get into trouble at different places. So that means the two of you have to get along."

"But are you going to allow the kids to fight the target, or are you fully taking over their bodies?" asked Mavislin, as the two spirits stared at her with confusion.

"We can't fully gain control because it would be unfair for the children and damage their souls. So the most we can do is give them the Elemental Energy and Power they need during the battle's climax," replied the Ankou.

"Ah, I see. Alright then, in terms of targets... I was planning to fight the Black Knight as the last opponent after we've taken down the rest of the Knights. Are both of you okay with such an arrangement?"

The Ankou and Mordred nodded their heads.

"Then there are the Knights; Gawain, Galahad, Lancelot, Tristan, and Bedivere. I'm placing Bryan against the Knight of the Sun, Gawain, while Rina would be against Galahad. Ashley will be up against Tristan if I've got enough power."

"No problem if I get a chance to rest in Euphoria before heading into battle..." noted Ashley, yawning.

"So who would you like to choose as your targets? If you are interested in fighting against someone, I can make the arrangements for you. Let's hear from Mordred first," asked the Valkyrie, gesturing to Mordred.

"Are you kidding me?! Of all the hundreds of Knights of the Round Table, why would Merlin decide to revive Bedivere?! That man is useless! He only became a Knight because there was space for one more lost puppy! A third-rate scum that was closer to the King..."

"That Knight of Wandering should never have wandered off the face of the earth before he joined the Round Table! Arg!" yelled Mordred as she slammed her fists into the ground.

The Ankou and Mavislin seemed unfazed by the sudden anger of the Knight Of Rebellion, while Ashley and Raiyen were shocked that Mordred would still harbor hate against her fallen Knights.

"Hang on... Isn't Bedivere one of the first Knights to be recruited into the Round Table?" asked Raiyen, confused.

"That puppy was the first Knight to join my father and Merlin. So it makes it even more infuriating that he got to stay 'til the very end! I don't get why my father chose Bedivere to be his caretaker when he wasn't strong enough to kill most rebels..." grumbled Mordred.

"Also, a gentle reminder that Gawain would be invincible when the sun is up, so if the Slayer's going to strike him, better make sure it's nighttime. And that Knight's attribute is Fire so..."

"Not to worry, Mordred. My Slayer is well-rounded with the Water Element since his Water Constellations are quite powerful against middle-ranking Mages. However, if things go sideways, I am confident that Bryan knows how to adapt to his circumstances."

"The same goes for my Spearman, Rina. Though she might not look like it, Rina is a capable Flower Mage trained by one of the Gladiators of Valokia. Therefore, placing her against the Knight of the Shield should not be an issue unless something goes wrong."

"So who do you intend to fight against? Please choose a target you have fought against to ensure a confirmed victory even in your weakened state. The Ankou should be alright with following your lead," asked Mavislin while looking at the Reaper for confirmation.
