"I promise theory lessons are going to be just as fun as combat lessons..." said the Valkyrie.
The children were quick with their desserts and ran up to their dorms to end the day while the adults stayed for a while, indulging in some alcohol.
"Since we are all here, shall we talk about what progress we've got on our Missions? Z said that he needed another Chime to get the device working so Ash can stay for a bit," asked the Headmaster, instantly pouring himself some whiskey.
Bryan had never seen the Headmaster drinking any alcohol and was amazed. Gillian caught the Slayer's gaze and smiled as he summoned another glass into his palm.
"Single malt... Much better than blended. And it's super smooth and oaky. I can guarantee that you will never return to blended whiskeys with one sip of this bad boy. I have loved this drink for over half a century, and I'm not tired of it."
"One of my favorite things in the world is alcohol and my wife, so you can expect me to be a good buddy drinker," said the Headmaster, pouring out the whiskey.
Bryan thanked the Headmaster as Gillian slid the rock glass towards him. After taking a small sip, the Slayer's eyes instantly lit up. Bryan had never drunk such a smooth whiskey before and fell in love with the drink. Meanwhile, Mavislin and Raiyen were both having iced tea.
"I researched the Black Knight and decided to do a covert operation against the target. However, the Black Knight and her Knights are all top-ranked fighters; each brings masters of a different weapon. I will have more details and how to take them down soon," said Mavislin.
"Very well, will you be planning to use the Five Children for this Mission?" asked the Headmaster.
"I have been considering nominating the twins, Duncan and Midori, for the Mission, but I am still on the fence about it. I do not doubt Duncan since his performance during the duels was through the roof, but Midori is another case."
"With the twins harnassing the power of past heroes, I plan to have them train towards using their spirits' powers in unison with their own," elaborated Mavislin, stirring her iced tea while speaking out her mind.
"So you want to use Mordred to fight against the Black Knight?" asked Raiyen, looking at Mavislin.
The Valkyrie was caught off guard but slowly nodded. Raiyen wasn't wrong about Mavislin's end goal; the Valkyrie wanted Midori to be the one to participate in the Major Mission alongside her twin, but with her powers being unstable and her lack of understanding of her spirit...
It wasn't going to be accessible as compared to Duncan and the Ankou. The two males acted like they were made for each other during combat as all their moves and thoughts were synchronized. Mordred was a Knight of the Round Table back in the days of King Arthur.
Thus, it would make sense that Mavislin would drag Mordred on the Mission to fight the revived Knights. But the Valkyrie was still worried that Midori was far too young even if she gave up her body to let Mordred take over for the Mission.
If a spirit takes over a body too often at maximum strength and persona, the body's original soul would slowly fade away, allowing the foreign soul to take over entirely. Essentially, Midori will die, and Mordred will be revived. It would be a situation that Mavislin cannot allow to happen.
"I wish I could, but Midori is probably too young to draw out the Knight Of Rebellion's power at maximum capacity. At most, I can make sure the twins are well-versed in fighting. But I can't give my word until I've seen the children's true powers."
"As far as I can tell, I would need to work on the children's combat skills as not all of them are up to standard yet. Also, it is too early to make staple calls since their Blood Mastery hasn't been fully activated yet."
"I understand; you may take your time with the children. But be sure to keep an eye for the rest of the kids back in the new Orphanage. They may not have been selected, but they've all shown some form of Magecraft one way or another."
"Also... Congrats, Raiyen; you are the new Time Master of the Era. You are going to be very busy very soon," said the Headmaster, toasting to the Time Mage.
"Why is everyone hinting that all the Time Mages will come knocking at my door?" asked Raiyen, confused and irritated.
"Well, there wasn't any Time Master for the past century, so finally, there's a leader. Someone powerful enough to show the Universe that the Time Magecraft isn't turning into a Lost Element."
