Chapter 633 - The Ark Of Choosing The Right Style

"A phone?! You created a phone using Magecraft before the Victorian Era?! Are you insane?!" yelled Raiyen, slamming the table and leaning towards Z.

The children were shocked, and Kai began to fuss and cry after Raiyen's sudden outburst. Rina glared at the Time Mage before getting up to calm Kai down. When nothing was working, the Butterfly Girl grabbed the baby and left to prepare him for bedtime.

"Seriously... You made the kid cry... I've technically made a phone, but only the basics of sending live sound through the main device and other receivers. The ones holding the receivers can't reply, so this is only a one-way thing, not too impressive," said Z.

Raiyen sat down and looked guilty that he'd made a child cry. Mavislin could only shake her head in disappointment and silently pray that Raiyen wouldn't make their future baby cry like that.

"I don't mind having my Marksman Pillar make the announcement but will it work?" asked Mavislin, concerned that the Mafia wouldn't remember Ashley.

"Let's hope that Ashley's name is still going around within the Mafia force for this major thing to work. If we can truly get the Mafia on our side while finding these targets, our lives would be much easier," said Z, finishing his meal.

"I think I've contributed enough to make my name known for centuries in that group, so I will make sure my voice is heard again. From what I can tell during the investigation the other day, the Mafia force has since doubled after my death, and the new head was my junior."

"If he hears my commands again, I'm sure he will listen to me even if the rest of the members don't care. And if he doesn't, I will give him a personal beating. You have my word," explained Ashley, firmly nodding at the Valkyrie and Headmaster.

"Very well then. After dessert, you are heading to my room to give the announcement. You are to tell them to find and hunt down the Hound of Madness and lead Baldwin to the guy. By all means, do not engage in battle with the target," instructed Z, standing up.

"Roger that, sir!" said Ashley, saluting.

"Alright, I'm going to head up to prepare the items while you enjoy desserts."

Tonight's dinner was fast as the table switched from dinner to dessert after half a Chime. Nasima had a second serving of cake while Duncan got to have ice cream with his cake. The Valkyrie caught wind of Circe's losses and gave her an extra strawberry, confusing the child of flames.

"Hey... There are still duels that you haven't encountered, so you don't feel bad for your current losing streak. You are still young so learn to explore what other fighting styles you can use for battles to come. You don't have to fight like an archer if you don't want to," advised Mavislin.

"Huh? What do you mean by that, Mother Mav?" asked Circe, munching on the strawberry.

"Well... You can take Midori for an example," said Mavislin, pointing to the child trying to stuff cake in her mouth.

Midori's ears flinched as Mavislin pointed toward her and mentioned her name.

"I swear that I didn't take anyone's food..." said Midori as her mouth was still full.

"That's not why I mentioned you... I wanted to say that Midori may be a swordsman, but her skills can shape a fighter with how her body moves and handles attacks. Have you noticed that through the duel? Midori is flexible, uses her weapon like spears, and can throw punches."

"I've never asked you five to stick with a single fighting method. Instead, I want you all to learn from each other so you can be independent when I send you out for Missions. You can't be only good at one style since your enemy would have ways to combat it."

"For example, a swordsman can use strong defense tactics to brace a hostile spell while a spearman can clash with swords. It's based on how your body works with the fighting method. So, Circe, I ask you to find out what combat style suits you best and try it out after tomorrow."

"As for the next day's schedule, all of you will have theory lessons with me. First, I will be teaching you about the Basic Elements and the origins of all Elements around us. Then, I will show you all the Basic Spells, and we'll work from there. So no fighting tomorrow," instructed Mavislin.

The children let out a collective 'aww' as Mavislin said there wouldn't be any combat the next day. Bryan smiled, knowing that the kids adored the fights since it's the only time they get test out their powers. Mavislin frowned, seeing that the kids aren't looking forward to her lesson.
