The audience turned around and shook their heads. Mavislin looked confused as she neared the group and looked downwards into the battlefield below them. The Valkyrie was shocked as she saw what Duncan was pulling off and what was Midori's next course of action.
Poor Bryan was pushed up to the wall and used his best defense to brace whatever would happen in that pit. Mavislin didn't want to interfere with the battle, so she didn't jump into the hole to stop the two kids, but she was worried about Bryan's safety.
"That kid is something else entirely... It's a guess, but I think he might surpass us as a leader of one of the Arks. His Elemental Aura is tense and is a level higher than my Catastrophe Class members. But the level we are feeling now is..." explained Z, turning to nod at Mavislin.
"Indeed, it is at our level of Elemental Power, but he is pushing himself to create more power to defeat his opponent. Plus, he uses more effort to do something that we can do in a finger snap. So I wouldn't count him too high yet," replied Mavislin.
"For someone who seemed to have a caring nature and cheerful aura, you are quite a killjoy," spat Z.
"I'm not as cheerful as you think, Galaxian Mage. I have to state the facts even if it stings. Or else, how would I ever lead my Ark? Least you forget, I was brought up to lead an entire kingdom into the battlefield by the Empress. Thus, I can be as brutal as I wish," replied Mavislin.
But as both kids' powers awakened to new levels and Bryan was forced into a tight space, Mavislin sighed and pointed at the Slayer's position. Even the teacher needed some help at times.
"But I won't be as brutal as to forgo the safety of my brethren," spoke the Valkyrie, as her palm glowed.
A black and purple orb appeared in her pointing finger and shot out towards the Slayer, whose barrier was beginning to crack. Bryan noticed the barrier morphing into a large, purple flower extending outwards, covering his entire body with several layers.
Back to the two children, Midori had understood that it would be a final clash against her brother and a surefire way to end the duel. So, with her legs kept apart and feet rooted into the ground, Midori held her sword with both hands and lifted it to her chest.
The blade was pointing upwards, and the child closed her eyes. Arondight started shining brightly while emitting blue sparks around Midori as her Elemental Aura grew. Although hard to see for the children, Circe noticed giant tree roots slowly surrounding the girl below.
Going for a sneak attack was Duncan's technique to get away from nasty situations, but it would appear that Midori was using the same kind of attack with the tree roots. But unfortunately, the battlefield was still in favor of Duncan's Tartarus.
As a threat was sensed in the confines of the dungeon, strands of frames appeared to get rid of the tree roots, weakening Midori's overall defense. Duncan took in one more breath before calling upon the Final Frame, but Rina noted it was different from the previous one.
Even the chant sounded far more lengthy than the one Rina had heard. Could it be that this boy learned to create another spell overnight? That's impossible for a boy his age... Right? The Spearman Pillar was correct if Duncan was an average child.
"The Fourth of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse. The true nature has been revealed, and this comes to the end of the play! Ah, what a tragic story yet so magnificent of a tale to tell! Let me, the writer, show you a stunning revelation as a fitting end. Here comes... The weapon of the Reaper!"
"For He is the one you will see at the end of your film. And with the weapon that He wields, a single swift cut is enough to bring an end to a lovely reel of a life. But, be it young or old, we can never escape the hands of the Grim Reaper. So now then, let's end this beautiful play!"
Duncan reached out his hands to his side, and a concentration of purple Elemental Energy appeared in his palms. The sound of a chain pulling rang throughout the area, and a long strand of lockets adorned the boy's waist. A giant black coat appeared on Duncan's body as well.
During the chant, the boy's hair grew out to incredible lengths and turned into that silver color familiar to the Valkyrie. In addition, the left pupil became green while the other remained normal. With that overall look, Mavislin had no doubt who had been inhabiting Duncan's body.
