"We would be put at risk if any sign of powers were to get out of the area since no one knows about this place," explained Bryan, as the landscape reverted to the original ground.
The Slayer then turned to the children hiding behind Tomoe's giant fluffy tail and Z's plump figure. Bryan then gestured for the kids to come out so he could continue with the day's task.
"Well then, that's the duel between opposing forces. Water against fire. Defense against the offense. As you can see, Amani is ultimately the winner despite mostly having his guard up. This goes to show that not every battle can be won with attacks.
"So long as your endurance is high enough to last the fight, you will survive the war. Now then, let's have the twins into the ring," explained Bryan, gesturing for Midori and Duncan to proceed.
Finally, the Slayer had a chance to see that Z had been watching the show and a very intrigued Kitsune.
"Since when did you pop out? Were you the one who enlarged the pit?" questioned Bryan as Amani slowly walked Circe to the grassy floor.
"I've been here since the start, and thank god I was here in the first place. That shield's power may have surpassed Lord Atlantia with the looks of things. Of course, Mavislin would not be happy about learning this fact. But, she would be delighted to know her students are doing well."
"As for why I'm here, I was bored after researching for a week straight, so I thought to see the duel," explained Z, shrugging his shoulders.
"Then it's lucky that you've caught Amani in action first. I understand why you chose that boy. His command of the Water Element is truly remarkable. Not to mention Amani is filled to the brim with legends and myths. Did the child make you proud during the fight?" asked Bryan, folding his arms.
Z went silent before glancing at Amani and Circe talking about the duel. Instead of being a sore loser, Circe was on cloud nine for being able to duel with a friend on the same level as her. And as for Amani, the adults had thought the boy would be proud of his victory enough to brag about it.
That was always the case for young children and their conflicts... But these kids aren't ordinary and do not have a choice to act out their feelings. There is no such thing as being a sore loser or boasting in their head. Because showing any form of emotion for them would be detrimental.
But now, with an area that didn't chain them down, they were allowed to feel emotions. Yet, the children were happy that they were all together and having fun. And Z could not be more proud of that fact.
"Of course, I am proud. And on behalf of Mavislin, I'm even proud of Circe, taking the defeat like a champ. Though their moves could be improved, since Amani's movements are still too stiff for normal Mage combat, I dare say the duel was a fantastic show to watch."
"I can't wait for the next one. Afterward, I'm checking up on Baldwin when we're having lunch. That Dark Mage should be there by now," explained Z, smiling.
"That quick? I thought Teuton is quite far from any of the Domains?" asked Bryan, confused.
"Yes, but he rode off using his special pet called the Puka. It's like a ghost horse of some sort, using the cover of shadows to reach enormous distances within hours. The Angry Man has just touched the area and is heading to a nearby eatery to gather information."
"I guess food does make the world go round..."
The following two contenders stood in silence, facing one another. Finally, Bryan stood by the side to give the final instructions.
"The previous winning conditions apply to this duel as well. So the first to get wounded would be the loser or if someone's weapon gets broken after a major crash. Any further, and I'll have to force my hand. And you'll find that I'm not as patient or nice as Lady Rina."
"If the two of you get out of hand, I don't mind showing everyone why I'm known as the Slayer Pillar. So please, do not make me do so. With that said and done... You may begin!" commanded the Slayer, stepping back from the ring with that in mind.
"Don't think I'll be going easy on you because you are my twin, Duncan. I may be a girl, but I'm not as nice as Circe or innocent Nasima. For now, you are my opponent, and I will be sure to be victorious in this duel," said Midori with her emerald eyes shining bright.
