The next day, breakfast was quick and the same as yesterday. This time, Rina was tasked to round up the orphans who were chosen by the rest of the Mages to be excluded from the Orphanage program. They totaled to be five kids. All of them were at least above ten years of age.
The Founders took a few days to pick out a child that they liked to be in the Barren Pillars. They were to name that child as well. One of the requirements to choose the kids was that they have to have shown their powers already. And being with the Mages had escalated their powers.
Three girls and two boys, all pale-skinned and looking slightly sickly. The girls were all shorter than the boys and had similar heights as one another. The first girl had brown hair and fiery orange eyes. She had a keen sense of sight and the Element of Fire.
The odd thing is that she couldn't see things directly in front of her. Mavislin picked her because she reminded the Valkyrie of Ashley. She was to be trained as the Marksman Pillar, succeeding Ashley for now. Her name was Circe, from the Greek Mythos and Latin meaning 'Hawk'.
The second girl used to have black hair and eyes... Until she sneezed. A set of ears and tails deriving from a fox spring out from the girl. Her eyes changed to emerald and her hair into white. There was a reason why she was picked by Tomoe.
At first, Gillian said Tomoe wasn't allowed to pick a kid but Raiyen stepped in to agree with his Familiar. With Raiyen noting the kid's strength and the fact that she was the tallest, she'd be great holding a sword. The girl they chose would be trained to be the first Swordsman Pillar.
Raiyen and Tomoe both brainstormed the girl's name. Both had clashing cultures and finally rested on naming her after her Element which was the Element of Earth. They named her Midori, which means 'Green' in Japanese, a nod to her new eye color.
The last girl was the shortest and looked adorable. She looked like Rina, with hair of black with pink ends. Her eyes were purple and she was quite quick like the Butterfly Mage. Though Rina wasn't tasked to choose a kid, Ysabeau agreed that this kid was fit to be in the Pillars.
It was a shame that she didn't have wings like the Mage who chose her. But Rina kept cuddling her so she was picked to be the Second Seat of the Spearman Pillar. Mavislin allowed Rina to train the child since she was going to be in her Pillar. The Butterfly Girl was elated.
Her Element, oddly enough, was the Wind Element. She could create small whirlwinds straight out from her palm. Ysabeau named the child 'Nasima', meaning breeze of fresh air in Arabic. The kid looked like she liked the name as well.
For the boys, they looked like opposites of one another. The one that Z picked was the oldest boy, big and burly in size. He had short and black hair while his eyes were as blue as the sky. He was the first out of everyone to show his powers, which was the Element of Ice and Water.
Thus it was natural for Z to pick him out. And this boy was to be trained to be the Traveler Pillar since he could create animals to ride on using Ice. He did have a kind heart amongst the five of them, with him constantly caring for the younger ones.
Since there was no such thing as a winter season in the Philippines, Z had to pick a name for him based on his other Element of Water. The child was named after the God of the Sea in Tagalog folklore, Amanikable.
The last kid was a boy with a scrawny build. He looked like Raiyen but younger. His hair and eyes were jet black. But the whites of his eyes became bright purple on the first day he was with the Mages. His Elemental Aura was odd, he could not stay near plants when his Aura showed.
Since the plants and small animals around him started to decay. Until Baldwin gave him a necklace to control his Element, the Element of Necrosis. The kid's got a crazed look on his face. Baldwin picked him to be in the Pillar. He was to be trained as the First Dementor Pillar.
He was being given the name 'Duncan' by Baldwin. According to the Dark Mage, the name means 'Dark Warrior'. Suited for the little guy. Though he was small, his powers were the strongest out of the five. And he would require extra care since Mavislin was a Light Mage.
