Mavislin opted to stay behind to help Rina for a while as Raiyen headed over to the place first. The Valkyrie then described the agenda for these kids for the months to come. Bryan, Rina, and Tomoe were the first to get briefed by Mavislin.
"Alright, once I've done telling you lot what the plans for these kids are, I'll be heading off to Raiyen's side. But first, I'll have you know that I expect the First Seats to step up their game—both in maturity and power. So if you've got a problem with that, sound out now," instructed Mavislin.
Mavislin held an intense gaze as she delivered the instructions. The three shook their heads.
"I know Tomoe isn't part of the Pillars, but he is here to help, so please cooperate. Thanks for the help. You'd be great at guiding the kids," said Mavislin, bowing at Tomoe.
"No worries, Lady Roydon. It's the least I can do. After all, you've helped me."
"Now then, let's get down to the point. These five kids are going to be trained as the Pillars. Be it a First or Second Seat, and these kids will be on our team. I need the three of you to help in guiding them to control and use their powers to the fullest."
"Don't worry, and I'm not going to lump everything onto your shoulders. After this week, I'll be joining you guys in training the kids. I have to get this thing approved by the Headmaster and High Queen in the following days."
Bryan raised his hand, wanting to ask a question. Mavislin gestured for him to continue with his query.
"Usually, a boss won't have to help out with training the underlings. However, there's a ladder that needs to be climbed when it comes to newcomers, right? Are you going to supervise, or will you be directly training them as well?" asked Bryan, with a serious expression.
He remembered the times that he worked with Minwoo. However, it was only in the later years of Marquess' life that Bryan got a chance to work with him. Before he could work with Minwoo, Bryan had to be trained under a few guys who were Earl Yan's students.
And when he performed well, Yan decided to train Bryan alone instead. This took a few months. That's why when Mavislin stated that she would be on ground zero to help, he got a bit confused and wary.
"That's right. You are the leader of the Barren Pillars, after all. Surely you've got more important things to do than training some kids. I, for one, know that I can't report directly to the head if I'm working under another researcher," added Rina.
Rina's work experience was familiar to Bryan's work history but slightly different. For her, she had to do it the old-fashioned way of climbing the ladder. Unfortunately, she didn't get to jump just because of her powers, and it took time for her to have her title.
Tomoe's eyes widened at how Bryan and Rina spoke about Mavislin's choice to handle the kids with them. Mavislin was also taken aback but started chuckling, confusing everyone.
"I'm sorry, Bry, for laughing out loud like that. But let me get this through both of your heads. I am, by no means, a leader that sits on the chair and does nothing all day. If I've got that thinking, the entire system of the Arks would've never happened."
"If I were to be like that, I would have never thought to make you my underlings. And I would have probably killed you on the spot since both of you couldn't defeat me. So when I say I want something to happen, I will get up on my two feet and do the task."
Mavislin walked closer to the First Seats and placed a palm on their heads.
"I will not walk in front of you. Neither will I walk behind you. I will walk beside you on this journey. So long as you are in my Ark, we will do things together. For minor missions, I will leave them for you to do. But for major missions, always know that I'm here for you if you need help."
"You are my underlings, not enslaved people. You are not tools. You are my precious students. And so are those kids that I saved and the ones who will join us. Got it?" asked Mavislin, gently ruffling their hairs.
The two of them nodded, and Mavislin took a step back.
"So this will be the plan. For now, we will be training them all together. Until I get another two First Seat Pillars, we will lump everyone together. When that time comes, the five will split and train under a First Seat as a one-to-one mentoring."
