"Looks like this mission needs to be dragged on for longer. And I have to do an all-nighter today. I can fix this to its newest condition so that it's inhabitable but I can't let you go in now," explained Raiyen, sighing.
Mavislin tilted her head to the side as Raiyen pulled his girl away from the building. The area looked odd as Mavislin squinted to look at it.
"You can't see it using your eyes. Only a Time Mage can see what is the problem and what is going on."
"I may not have the power to see what's going on, but I'm sure then I can hear what's going on," replied Mavislin, tucking strands of hair behind her ears.
It wasn't just in a state of decay, it was in multiple stages of running down. It was like everything was happening all at once within this building. Some parts look untouched and some parts looked like death had treaded across. That was what Raiyen was seeing.
For Mavislin, the building looked blurry but it was producing different types of sounds. Mostly of kids crying and screaming. Mavislin moved to the side, where she could hear foreign language voices shouting and bombings while looking at an open area where a window should've been.
She then a few steps further to her side and the sounds couldn't have been more different. Tranquil sounds, calming chirps of a bird, and the smell of greenery. No more smoke or cries. She wanted to get a clearer sound and smell of the building but was stopped by Raiyen.
"You'll get torn to a thousand different shreds throughout TIme itself if I let you go in there. Only a Time Mage can do so. This place is a hazard to anyone who can't travel through Time normally. It is showing all of its Time Frames all at once," elaborated Raiyen.
Mavislin pouted at her partner for pulling her back so suddenly. But then an idea popped into her mind.
"I don't think we'll need to extend the duration of the spell... I think we could use this to advantage," said Mavislin, grinning.
"What are you suggesting?"
"Well, since these are all the Time Frames of the area, happening all at once... You could grab the ones you need for the later part of the spell and stash them away. You would then proceed on to do the initial step of the spell and you won't have to travel to get the Time Frames."
Raiyen paused and looked at Mavislin's eyes. Full of pureness and innocence, as if what she said flowed out so naturally.
"I wonder... If you would be better suited to be a Time Mage instead of me..."
"Was that idea wrong?"
"No... It was brilliant. You just got the order wrong. I'll do the initial step first, with you supporting from the outside. And after that has been done, I would rearrange these Time Frames in order and use it to create the final step of the spell," agreed Raiyen, gently ruffling his girl's hair.
"You are using all of the Time Frames?"
"Yep, the more the merrier. But the next question is that how are you going to enhance my powers?" asked Raiyen.
Mavislin cracked her knuckles and grinned from ear to ear. Raiyen was slightly frightened at the sight of a happy Valkyrie. God knows what she'll do...
"Well, for this whole week, you'll be under my care. Did you ask how I will enhance your power? The same way my Pillars get their boosts," said Mavislin, proudly showing Raiyen her Emblem of the Barren Pillars.
Raiyen gulped as he saw the glowing hand. He heard from Ashley that it was quite painful to feel such power surging through him, and to Bryan, it felt like he was going to explode. Rina commented that she felt light-headed and giddy like she was floating in the air.
But all of them had felt the surge of power that flowed through them directly from the Valkyrie. All of it was more than their output. And Raiyen feared the worst, he might end up losing control if he was handed the power all at once. But it was far too late to back down now.
"What position will you assign me as?" asked Raiyen, still nervous.
"I can assign the Dementor Pillar, the one who uses the most power, to you temporarily. It'll enhance your power to soar through the roof. Usually, it's supposed to be used for those who have lost their sanity in trade for more power. But in this case, it would be helping you."
"What happens is that whatever you are giving out now would be tripled when you bear that emblem. You won't lose control or your sanity."
