"Mr Lan! Take Miss Liu to my house."
The bodyguard that was the Mr Lan, gestured for Liu Rachael to follow him out of the building.
"B..But..What about my manager?!"
The boxes that contained the order of her manager lay scattered on the marble floor, shoes and clothes tumbled out of them. Liu Rachael didn't mean to call attention to her manager using company time to shop, but she also felt she needed to let the other woman know of her plight, before leaving without any notice.
"What about it?"
Liu Rachael had both fists clenched in agitation, "Couldn't he see that she needed to report her whereabouts to her boss at the sales department?! Fine! He was the boss of her boss! But still! It made sense to let at least someone from her office know where she was, rather than leaving them in a limbo!"
The thought went through her mind, while pasting a smile on her face, not wanting the chairman of Cinopec Group to see how irritated she was at him.
"Chairman Duan, I wouldn't take much of your time, if you don't mind, but can you please allow me to take these boxes back to the sales department? I won't be long."
She saw the way he looked at her as though wanting to gauge if she had any hidden motive beyond what she said to him. After a while, the look he gave her lessen in their intensity, as he said, "Very well! But, one of them would have to follow you to your department. Mr Lan kindly see to it that Miss Liu concludes her business at the sales department and take her straight to my house! By the way, help Miss Liu carry her boxes."
Liu Rachael bristled with anger as she heard him tell his bodyguard to follow her.
