The next day, they left at around 11 AM in the morning, and they drove there with Sachi's car. Sachi did not tell her parents in advance that her husband will be coming along with her to visit until it was time for them to leave, because she was not really sure whether Ryo was serious or not with coming along with her for the visit.
When she texted her mother as she was getting ready in her room that Ryo will be coming along, she immediately received a call from her.
"Why didn't you tell me sooner?" her mom's voice roared over the phone.
"Because I wasn't sure if he would really make it or not," she explained. "Anyway, it's just Ryo, he's visited you guys before so stop making such a big deal or fussing over this, okay?"
"Stall him a bit, don't come until at around 11 AM. We need to prepare him a feast," her mother deliberately announced and hurriedly dropped the call before she could even protest.
"No, you don't," Sachi said as she heard the "tut-tut" sound over the phone. "Honestly, who's more important, your own daughter or him?" she said as she angrily tossed her phone on the bed. "This is all because of that monkey's fault," she said to Kuma-chi who was playing with his toy on her bed.
On their way to her parents, Ryo asked her to make a detour and stop at a nearby flower shop that he knows about. He said it was for her mom.
She wanted to protest but did not really have the energy for it so she just complied. He bought her mother a bouquet of flowers.
At her parents, everyone was making a fuss, it was like a celebrity was going to lunch with them or something. Her whole family liked Ryo, this includes her father, mother and younger brother.
'If you only know what he's really like or what his agenda is. If you only know his personal vendetta against our family,' Sachi said to herself. She was angry and sad at the same time because she knows that Ryo was only deceiving them, just like how he deceived her.
She couldn't keep but to secretly shot him daggers with her look as she saw how her family was doting on their son-in-law. And, Ryo seemed to be basking in their attention.
After lunch, the family gathered on their balcony on the second floor that is overlooking the garden. They were all having tea and chocolate cake. Ryo and his in-laws were on one table, while Sachi with Kuma-chi on her lap and her younger brother was on another adjacent table.
"The view from your balcony is great as always," Ryo said to his in-laws.
Sachi wanted to snort out loud when she heard him say this.
"My wife has been taking very good care of our gardens," Iyoshi, Sachi's father, said proudly.
"You flatter me, darling," Ayumi, Sachi's mother said with a smile.
Sachi wanted to puke on her cake because everything seemed so fake around her. She wished for the day to just end.
"Why the long face?" she suddenly heard her younger brother, Kinosuke asked.
"Nothing really," she answered him nonchalantly with a smile.
"I know, you're just jealous that Oka-san and Oto-san are hogging your husband's attention, aren't you?" his brother asked and teased at the same time.
"Shut up," she contradicted. "Absolutely not!" Sachi noticed that the other table has become quite, she then noticed that they were listening in on their conversation.
"It really is just like my daughter to get jealous over such a thing," she heard her father say.
"Dad!" Sachi groaned, after that her whole family burst into laughter, even Ryo was smiling and seemed to be enjoying himself.
Sachi let out a disgruntled sigh. 'Well, at least one of us is enjoying.'
And then the conversation took to a more serious note as his father began asking Ryo about the business, and Ryo, too, inquired about theirs. For the most part until night time, her father and husband have engaged in business talk.
At around 6 PM, her mother told her that they should have dinner there as well. She was called to the kitchen to help so she did not have time to monitor what Ryo was doing while she was helping out in the kitchen. She got so busy helping their cook that she did not notice that her mother disappeared from her side. When the food was ready and their staff was already setting the table, she decided that she should now call her family and announce that dinner is now ready.
Sachi found them in the living room, they were all laughing when she came into the room. And then, to her horror, she saw what they were laughing at, her mother and brother were showing Ryo her photo albums, and her husband was busy flipping through them.
"What the hell," she could not keep voice down. She hurried towards them and snatched the photo album from Ryo's hands.
"Sachi?" her mother was astonished by her actions.
Even her father, who was pretending to read newspaper looked up to see what the commotion was about.
"Onee-chan?" she even heard her brother say.
To Sachi, Ryo was not deserving to know more about her or her past, as someone who did not truly love her and only want to exact his revenge on her and her family, he has no right whatsoever to get to know her. She wanted to get angry at Ryo right there and then, in front of her family.
"Why would you guys show them my embarrassing photos?" Sachi asked her mother with clenched teeth as an excuse for her bizarre reaction.
"I asked them to," Ryo replied with a strained expression on his face.
"Dinner's ready," she said looking him straight in the eyes. If looks could kill, Ryo would have been dead right there and then.
Her father got up and ushered Ryo out of the living room to their dining area.
"What's gotten into you?" her mother asked her, Sachi was still clutching the album like her life depended on it.
"Yeah, Onne-chan," Kinosuke said with a worried face.
"Aside from not asking him about grandkids and stuff, please refrain from showing or telling him anything about my past," Sachi said to them matter-of-factly.
Sachi has long instructed her family not to bother Ryo with questions about their would-be grandkids. She asked them of this right after she found out what his true intention was in marrying her.
Her mom was about to protest but she cut her off, "Please, I'm begging you."
She then went upstairs and hid her pictures in her room, leaving her mother and brother in their living room confused.
And, because of what happened earlier, their dinner was quiet and awkward, though, her father did try to start a conversation with Ryo every now and then, and her mother would offer him food and ask if they were up to his taste or not.
Sachi kept a blank expression all throughout dinner. Every now and then she would get a glimpse of her mother giving her a questioning look.
'Great! In my family's eyes, I'm the bad guy now, too?' she thought to herself begrudgingly.
Their visit to Sachi's parents finally came to an end. Honestly, she did not want to go back to their penthouse with Ryo that night, or more like, she no longer wants to go back there, but she knew she can't do that. Her parents will become even more suspicious about them and their true relationship. She did not want her family to suffer the same pain and confusion that she had went through with Ryo.
They did not say a word to each other all throughout the ride back to their penthouse. It wasn't until they were finally inside their own living room that Sachi lost it.
"I get it that you hate us, that you don't like my family, because as you said, we cheated yours, right? If you want to hurt or use someone, I'm here, you can use me, you can have your revenge with me for all I care, but, don't ever make a mistake or hurting or going after my family. Stop pretending about wanting to be close or getting to know them, because you know that all this is, they're all lies, Ryo!" she said full of anguish and tears in her eyes.
"I hate you!" Sachi said. "There, I said it, I hope you're happy. You win!"
She then picked Kuma-chi up and carried him inside her room. She closed her bedroom door with a loud bang behind her.
That night, neither one of them got any sleep.
